Lucas asks. I start walking, jogging my memory, “There is an entire section on wolfsbane. I never read that much into it but we can start there.” There are quite a lot of books that we have to go through what as hours pass, we find nothing of importance. “This is useless,” Lucas growls, throwing a books aside. “Don’t throw them.” He just scowls and picks it up. I turn my attention back to the book in my hands and a line catches my attention.

He figured that there should be more books in it. He placed the parcel on the floor, grabbed himself a cutting knife, and took out the books from the box. All the books were for pregnant women: "All You Need to Know about Pregnancy", "Food for Pregnant Women", "Keeping Fit for Pregnant Women", "Music for Babies", "Pre-natal Stories for Expecting Fathers"... the list went on and on. Lucas' heart throbbed as he stared at the five books in front of him. He wanted to place them back on the bookshelf, but then his arms turned as heavy as lead.

It was his pocket scripture, a book of ancient pack laws and prophecies he carried everywhere. Sliding it across the table until it rested near my glass, he told me to look at page forty-two. He tapped the spot with his finger.

“Are you going inside?” I turned around and saw Lucas standing behind me with more books in his hand. “Sorry,” I said, stepping inside and he followed. “I saw that you found the room without any problems.” He said, setting the pile of books on the table. “Yeah… We’re not going to be using all of these books, are we?” I asked curiously.

It's a handwritten book by a toddler. Lucifer looked at the drawing. It had a sun with two adults and a child in the middle. The book had a name written: Jessica's mommy and daddy. Lucifer glances through the book and turns to the second page; it says to believe. The third page says, ‘I have not abandoned you.’ The fourth page, ‘if you are reading this it is because it was planned you find this.’ As Lucifer turns the page, he sees gods hand reaching out of the sky. As he checks the other pages, it is all blank. This is where your story begins. Tossing it aside, Lucifer can't help but tear up, seeing this girl's picture with long blonde hair and about seven years old.

Lucian’s P.O.V. I look around the small expanse of fresh, green grass that laid below the sun’s light, making up the park that was overflowing with families. My legs remain stretched out beneath me, a hand supporting my head as I watch with tired eyes. Following the happy families of attentive parents and cheerful children playing without a single concern for the eye to see, pain blisters through me from the sight of it. I pull my eyes away and focus them instead on my feet. I knock them together to distract myself, trying to make the knocking loud enough to drown out the laughter that echoed through my ears.
