Ghost In The Pack
The dark brown cover was worn smooth with age, and strange silver markings were pressed into the leather.
Without thinking, I accepted it. The instant my fingers touched the cover, warmth spread across my palm. It wasn’t painful. If anything, the book almost felt…alive.
“I think you’ve mistaken me for…” The rest of the sentence never came. The man had vanished.
That’s so strange. Because I didn’t see him walking away. He didn’t blend into the crowd. He just simply… Vanished.
I turned in a slow circle, scanning every face around me. People laughed, ordered drinks, argued over upcoming fights, and carried on as if nothing unusual had happened.
