A three-dimensional map appeared above the tablet. The group gathered around it. Ama felt her pulse quicken. The map zoomed outward. Continents. Oceans. National boundaries. Then it began narrowing. A region appeared. Arthur immediately frowned. “No.” The map zoomed closer. Mountain ranges emerged. Deep valleys. Ancient terrain. Then a red marker appeared. A single blinking point. The man in black went completely still. “No,” he whispered. Ama looked between them. “What?” Nobody answered. The marker continued blinking.

"What kind of warning?" Maelis reached into her cloak and withdrew a folded map. The parchment was old and worn, marked with ink in five different colors. She spread it across the table, and I saw the territories outlined in careful detail. Silver Hollow was there. The Gray Reach, far to the north. And five other packs, each one marked in red.

"But how far east did they take her?" Our lycan hearing picks up her whisper easily. She moves the crystal further along the eastern path. The light grows brighter, then suddenly starts to flicker and fade as she hits the edge of the paper. She pulls it back two inches, and the glow stabilizes into a deep, angry neon blue. "Oh, shit," the witch whispers. She looks up at me, her skin turning completely pale. "What is it?" I ask, leaning over the table to inspect the markings. The map is totally different from our military grids. There are no pack boundaries or kingdom borders here. Instead, the land is divided into jagged sections marked by coven sigils.

“The maps show nothing at that location.” “The maps are wrong,” I smirk as I turn the key and watch the transport come to life beneath my fingertips. It’s one of our few larger pods, big enough for everyone if need be: Ursa, Orion, Kora, Atremi, Primus, and, gods willing, Carnelia. “The location isn’t present on our maps, but trust me, it’s real.”
