Jesus, save my day, please. I get out of bed groaning and slam the bathroom shut. I take a shower as slowly as I can, letting the hot water run down my skin. I brush my teeth leisurely before dragging myself out of the washroom and putting on deodorant. I take a look at my charming self in the mirror one last time before rushing downstairs to get something to eat. I snatch the milk cartoon out getting irritated when it didn't get out the first time I tried to pull it out. I pour some milk in my bowl before the cereal. Some people put the cereal first before the milk. I find it weird that people do that though. I don't know, maybe it's because I grew up doing the opposite.

I don't need to practice piano or violin anymore. I toasted the bread and went to the fridge to get the milk. I saw two cartons of milk with different brands. Layla said yesterday that she bought milk. Not caring what kind of brand Layla bought, I get the nearest one. They were both kinds of milk anyway. However, when I reached the nearest milk, a cold voice sounded behind me. "That's mine."

Leila questioned, her eyes widening in surprise. I could understand her plight, Dasel milk was too expensive to afford, so we always settled for the dried and less nutrient-filled milk that cost less. “Mom made a lot of money yesterday,” I mumbled as I fed her the sandwich. A thought suddenly crossed my mind, and a gasp escaped my lips. “Oh no, I forgot to get the cookies!” I said, worry etched on my face. Leila couldn't drink the milk like that without a cookie, and I had forgotten to get it.

Pablo finished his adventurous eating story and Miller gaged while Ophelia laughed. "You are gross Pablo!" She laughed out loud and Miller nodded his head. "Seriously you ate those jelly doughnuts with vegemite?" Miller asked in disbelief and Ophelia turned to him. "How come you are not mentioning the mustard?" She asked and Miller shrugged. "Donuts with mustard isn't that bad. But vegemite! Gross!" He shuddered and Ophelia stared at them in disbelief. "You both are impossibly gross!" She shook her head. Her gaze was drawn to the restaurant's entrance when she heard loud and familiar laughter. When her gaze met the person's, he exclaimed.

"Mom..." Arvis lay on the bed and called Alaina gently, but Alaina didn't reply to him. Then he raised his voice slightly and called her again, "Mom!" Alaina came to sense and forced a smile, "What's wrong, Arvis?" "Mom..." Arvis knitted his good-looking eyebrows. He pursed his lips and sat up, "Mom, from now on... I won't drink milk anymore." "Why?" Alaina was a little confused and said, "Arvis, drinking milk powder is good for your health, and you can get stronger."

I took the crumbly bread. "What is this?" I asked with a grimace. Where's my usual bread? Martha spoke up. "Oh, dear, try this salt bread that we prepared for you. We found out that you like bread!" I didn’t want to be rude. As I've said, I have a soft spot for older people. So I gave Martha a small smile and took a bite. It tasted fine, even this chocolate drink made with pure chocolate. It wasn't bad after all! After eating, I tried browsing my social media accounts on my phone but failed miserably. I knew that the internet speed here in the countryside was extremely slow, but I had no idea it could be even worse than this.

Carla greeted me with a warm smile and offered me a slice of bread with jam spreaded on top, which I gladly accepted. As I took a bite of the warm, buttery bread with sweet jam, memories flooded my mind. The aroma of freshly baked bread was a familiar scent that reminded me of my childhood. I remembered how my father used to wake up early every Sunday morning to bake bread for I and my mum. He would mix the ingredients in a large bowl, knead the dough, and let it rise.
