Miguel stood next to me with a worried look on his face and a glass of water in hand. Kira panted heavily, receiving the glass of water with gratitude. After taking about two full glasses, she inhaled, holding my gaze. “Mira was behind the kidnap.” She said I stared at her looking dazed, “what does Mira have to do with all of this?” I asked in disbelief. “She did that to serve as a warning for me to stay away from you. And I must say, I really underestimated her.”

“Even though I’m poor, I still have my pride. I won’t let anyone humiliate me like this. “Jeremy, only you’ll be able to help me.” Bailey sobbed pitifully, and it was easy to sympathize with her. Jeremy immediately walked toward her. He hugged her and patted her back in comfort. Then, he turned around to scold me. “No matter what the truth is, I don’t intend to see a repeat of this. “Bailey’s in shock. I have to take care of her. You don’t have to come back here for a while. She’ll be triggered when she sees you.” He did not trust me after seven years together.

But because Sebastian was a man who moved toward what moved toward him — and Tovia, loving him silently, had never moved. Mira had moved. Directly, intentionally, at an altar in front of two hundred people, in the specific unmistakable way of a woman who had decided and was not going to pretend otherwise. That was the whole story. That had always been the whole story. Tovia picked up her cold coffee and drank it anyway. “We need to call the counsel,” Mira said. Sebastian nodded. “And investigators. Before Nolan has any indication that this exists.” He looked at Selene. “Are you willing to speak to them directly?”

Then Helen and Richard left, saying that they would come to see me tomorrow. Jeffrey stood outside the door, hesitant to leave. "Audrey, we can never be together again, right?" Hearing this, Kash wanted to go up and hit him, but I stopped Kash. "Yes. "I’ve been unhappy for the past seven years. Jeffrey, how many seven years are there in one’s life?"

Mira smirked and continued chopping her vegetables. “You are issuing an arrest? What is wrong with you?” I reduced my tone. “Harry, I grew soft. I forgot about the pains he put me through but after his meeting with me today, I know exactly what I am doing”. She opened the pressure pot and poured the vegetables in it. “Mira, this is my brother, your husband. Your new life and your reputation. Do you want to gamble with all that?” I asked softly. She looked at me and pointed a knife at me. “Stay away from this fight or I will drag you down the hill”.

“And that’s why I need you to gain his full trust. You’re the perfect person for this mission.” Camille stared at him. “Wait a second… you want me to know his secrets, gain inside information about the McGregor company, and then betray him in the end?” “Bingo!” Christian said happily. “You’re a smart woman. Her eyes flicked over me like I was a purchase. “This is her?” she asked Bianca, not me. “This is Mira,” Bianca said. “Adrian’s wife.” “A nurse,” the woman said, and the word sounded like dirt. “How… charitable.”

The lower door still trembled faintly under the moonlight. Elder Corvin seized the silence before it could turn against him. His voice was practiced, smooth, and heavy with authority as he declared that Mira Vale had been found at a forbidden ritual threshold. He listed her crimes: possession of illegal maps, association with a rogue witness, and signs of Moon Rite contamination. He announced that the Luna Trial must begin immediately to determine if she was a false claimant, a curse-carrier, or a danger to the Alpha’s intended mate. Mira felt the words settle over her shoulders like iron chains.

I said simply.
