I wore my pajamas and stare at the window for a minute. I see stars. A night full of stars, a night that has a bright full moon. A beautiful nightsky scenery before sleeping. I grab my phone and took a photo of the nightsky. This was a best night. I smiled and turn off my lamp and get ready to bed. Before sleeping, i took my phone and looked at the photo i shot. I find the photo...weird but beautiful. The photo contains a moon with a...howling wolf? I scratch my eyes to see it once again and the howling wolf was gone. All i can see is a beautiful and bright moon, nothing else.

I said with a pout, as he took a picture of my neck. "I can kind of sense what you’re thinking." He smirked. I frowned. "That’s a wolfie thing?" "Kind of." He winked as he held the phone out to me. I took it, my heart skipping a beat as I looked at the screen nervously. It was not what I was expecting. There was a full moon, surrounded by flames. One could mistake it for the sun, but it was clearly a moon. In front of the moon was a silhouette of a wolf, its fur a deep navy black, littered with stars and a small moon… just like the night sky…

How fucking lame is that? ‘The mobile,’ Ares grumbles from the abyss. His reminder brings my attention to the hanging structure above my son’s bed. Walking closer, I gaze at it. It is beautifully crafted. The tent covering the moon is a beautiful navy blue, constellations’ decorate the top, reminding me of the night sky. Underneath sits the triple moon. Upon closer inspection, a key sits in the full moon at the center. Wolves circle the moon, their howling and running figures hanging by fish wire.

Maybe the gods think I look pretty this way. A gasp escaped me as I turned my neck to get a better view. My fingertips brushed against a beautifully intricate design that adorned my skin. It was a crescent moon, its delicate details awash in an array of enchanting blue shades. Stars, each unique, encircled the moon like constellations painted by a celestial artist. At the edge of the crescent, a pitch-black wolf stood, head thrown back as it howled at the moon. My mate’s initials are written below the mark.

I tilt my head to get a better look at it, to marvel at what I created on his neck. He was mine now for definite. The mark of a large full silvery moon with its reflection in a body of water underneath. I can make out two wolves laying by the water’s edge, the bigger wolf resting it’s head on top of the slightly smaller wolf. That must be the two of us. This is adorable.

I will do the stupid Hide and Go Seek in the woods. ‘Thank you. And Sugar?’ “Yeah?’ ‘Whatever happens during the ritual, don’t run and don’t fight me.’ ‘Excuse me?’ He doesn’t answer. I pace my room. The once full blood moon is starting to become a waning gibbous. I always preferred a waxing gibbous. My chest is tight and it feels as if something is trying to claw its way out. I look away from the window and instead sit on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I barely slept because of the strange feeling.

“Look. The Blood Moon is already on the rise.” My head snapped up. It was slowly growing dim outside, and the red Blood Moon was rising, as he had said. Soon, I would have no control over my actions. “Call me on my cell if you need me. I don’t care what time of the day or night it is.” “I will.” “Oh, and Wyatt?” His head snapped up, eyebrows raised. “Thank you... for everything.” He nodded once as one corner of his lips curled into a sly smile. “Now, get inside before I have to fight the women off for you.”

The soft glow of her bedroom lanterns reflected off her ash-blonde hair, which she had twisted into a perfect, messy bun, with short curls framing her round face. Her pale purple eyes sparkled, flecked with hints of silver—a distinct mark of being Moon-Kissed. Soon, she thought, her mate would see her as she saw herself: beautiful, unique, a prize worthy of any Alpha’s daughter.

The full moon rose high in the night sky, painting the world in a soft ethereal glow, Kara and Ryder stood at the edge of the forest.
