Ne Seattle Library Novels & Stories

POV: Sienna Rhodes The New York Public Library's special collections division closes at six on weekdays, which means I have been here since nine this morning and I have been given nine hours to find what I am looking for, which is either enough or not enough depending on whether what I am looking for wants to be found. I am looking for Helena Moreau Sterling. Not the person. The record of the practice.

LYRA As I step through the library doors, I inhale deeply, the musty smell of old books is one of my favorite things. The she-wolf behind the desk offers me a fake smile as I pass her desk and make my way to the computers in the center of the library. Taking a seat at the only free computer, I make the mistake of glancing back and the front desk and the woman behind it is glaring at me. A shutter travels up my spine as I try not to think about which one of my mates she may have been involved with before I came along.

SELENE The first time I came to Seattle I arrived on a Tuesday morning in late October and had coffee at the place on the corner near Riley Harper's building and watched a woman with red hair and paint on her jacket carry two four-year-olds into a bike shop and thought: *there it is.* I had been patient for a very long time. Patience is the thing that separates strategy from reaction, and I had always understood the difference.

Selena said and both of them left Forester and headed for New York. "Didn't you say Ethan mentioned it was with the girl?" Alex asked, walking into their room. ★★★★★★★★★★ The library stood in front of them across the street in New York. It has been two days since they arrived. “This is it,” Alex said as they both glared at the big building in front of them. It was a high sort of white, cinder-block building with a badly defined gravel parking area in front, where there were three pickup trucks and a green Jag. An old metal Library Open sign hung over the screen door. One could smell the availability and surpluses of books in the building. The shouting and honking of vehicles that plied the s

I said calmly and wiped away her tears. Even though her face was red from crying, Selene had an absolutely devastating beauty. She was the most natural woman I had ever met. “Well,” Selene said. “What other mysteries does this pack have?” The question made me smile. We left the art museum and went to the library. “Do you like to read?” I asked with genuine curiosity, and Selene nodded. "We have the largest library in the North. Many wolves from other packs come to consult books here." Selene looked at the small building and frowned.

In fact, she was raising her hand to emphasize that she was on a busy street in Mareco, only if Hadley could see her. Hadley pauses, "okay…" Serena recognized the tone, she was doubting her. "FaceTime then? Where are you?" "Ugh...I can't do that now, this place is busy as hell, maybe not so busy in the afternoon, I guess because it's sunny. I just got out of a library. The Citizens Library, did I tell you about it?" She paused to know if Hadley was following. "Yeah, I guess…but why would you be going to a library anyway. I don't think rich billionaires go to libraries, they own them in their mansions! You need to go to the parties, the functions, the clubs!" Hadley ranted, a hint of mockery

SELENE'S POV I arrived at the municipal library first, twelve minutes before Adrian. The library smelled exactly the way I remembered it. Old paper, cedar wood and some faint metallic smell from the heating system that had probably not been updated since the building was renovated in the nineties. The kind of smell that existed in layers, each one belonging to a different decade of the same place. The third floor reading room was empty the way it always was on weekday mornings. Four long tables and wooden chairs with the specific discomfort of furniture built for function rather than comfort.

The book launch for Emma's third novel took place on a crisp October evening at Elliott Bay Book Company, Seattle's most beloved independent bookstore. Emma stood behind the podium looking out at a packed audience of romance readers, fellow authors, publishing professionals, and friends who had supported her journey from struggling writer to bestselling author.

The echoes of laughter, spirited debates, and shared camaraderie still hung in the air, infusing the center with a sense of purpose and promise. In the heart of the community center, the library stood as a beacon of knowledge and understanding. Each book on the shelves, each scroll in the archives, was a testament to the city's commitment to learning and intellectual growth. From historical tomes detailing the origins of the Sapphire Crown to scientific treatises exploring the mysteries of the universe, the library was a treasure trove of wisdom waiting to be discovered.

I rolled my eyes even though I was smiling “I'm more interested in the company please and thank you” The light turned green, and he started driving again Dad huffed “You don't want to have a family, Son?” I lifted one shoulder in a shrug. “I don't know, Girls are kind of scary" He laughed again. “Oh Son, you have no idea” A few minutes later, the giant stone building of the Seattle Public Library came into view, my cheeks almost cracked with my big smile I loved this place. The huge glass windows reflected the morning golden sun, and people moved up and down the library stairs carrying books and backpacks. Dad parked near the curb and turned off the engine.
