I needed answers. I needed help.

“Now what?” The question hung in the air like a challenge, and I knew I had no answer for her. I didn’t know what came next. I didn’t know what I wanted, what I was supposed to feel. I could feel her eyes on me, searching for something, maybe hoping for some kind of clarity. But I couldn’t give it to her. I didn’t have it for myself. I stood, moving toward the window, the cool breeze from outside washing over my face. It cleared my head, if only a little. “I don’t know,” I admitted, my voice hoarse, raw.

But when has life ever given me what I wanted? "I..I..I don't know", she muttered avoiding my gaze. "Oh you don't know?", I said with a smile. I could see her visibly gulp. I probably looked like a deranged psycho. I couldn't help but feel like I was missing something. I couldn't help but feel like I wasn't piecing something together. I couldn't help but feel that there was a missing part to this puzzle and I'd find out what it was by hook or crook. I need to know my dad's whereabouts.

Tired of not knowing what the right choice was. All I knew was that something had to give. And soon...

And I didn't know what was right for me. "I think I should call Aaron," I blurted out, "I need to ask him if he knows about this or not."

Resolve. Because suddenly, the realisation dawned on me that it wasn’t just me anymore. I didn’t know what would come next. I didn’t know how I’d pay for everything, or where I’d be in six months. But I knew one thing for sure. And that was that I was going to be a mother. And I didn't need Cassian Hale to save me or any other man for that matter.

All I knew was that I was trapped in a place where even being needed didn’t mean being wanted. And tomorrow would probably be worse.

I needed to think and understand what was happening. All I knew was that things would never be the same again…
