Never Saw Me Coming Novels & Stories

Ignoring the weight of every stare. My boots clicked against the tile. My pulse thundered in my ears. I didn’t look back but I felt him watching me.

Kalven nodded his head but soon answered her verbaly because she can't see him. "I'm sure." He answered. Even though she can't see him, she can hear from his voice that his lips were streched in to a smile. She sighed from exhustion and started tapping her white cane on the ground in a hurry to get to her bed. "Wait.." Kalven stopped her "I'm Kalven. I just moved here yesterday." "Nice to meet you, Kalven." Carella commented as she walked away. "You didn't tell me your name." Kalven called out.

"Forgive me. I'll never let you get hurt again." But Cassie couldn't answer. *** In a hospital across the city, my eyes flickered open. I stared at the stranger in the mirror, realizing the witch had kept her promise.

“Is he trying to win her back? Unfortunately, he isn’t anywhere near worthy of her anymore.” “Jason, you should go to hell with Rachel.” After the public apology, Jason called me and asked to meet. “I know you don’t want to see me, Nina, but… There are some things I want to tell you in person.” I turned him down. He had no right to affect my mood anymore. The next day when I went out, however, a car suddenly sped toward me, the screeching brakes piercing through the air. At the very last second— Someone jumped toward me and pushed me aside!

I needed to leave and make sure that nobody would find me this time around. I staggered onto the street, following my feet to wherever it led me because I had no place in mind. I stumbled onto the road, not even noticing the traffic light had changed. The glare of headlights blinded me as I tried to cross, and I covered my eyes from the impact. I didn't notice that a car was approaching me until it was too late. It screeched to a halt just inches away from me, but my head felt heavy, and everything went black before I collapsed. ******

It only sees what it wants. And the universe took me off its contact list. My friends faded first, then my seatmates stopped talking to me. Teachers stopped remembering my name. People literally walked past me in crowds like I wasn’t there. Someone bumped into me at lunch and said, “Oh, sorry didn’t see you.” Didn’t see me!! Didn’t see me!! Didn’t see me!! The phrase became a background noise. Eventually, I stopped expecting anything else. So I learned something important: If no one sees you, you see everything.

Because the moment I saw it— One thought hit me like lightning. I had seen that face before. Not in the past. Not in memory. But recently. Very recently. Which meant— Whoever that man was… He wasn’t gone. He was still here. Somewhere close. Watching. Waiting.

I jumped up from the couch so abruptly that my vision went dark for a moment. He shot me an annoyed look. "What do you mean I can't? Didn't you always want to go there? I'll be going with Ivy first." The light above me blurred into fuzzy glowing balls, and I broke into a sweat. Immediately after, I collapsed. I think I felt pain, but I was only capable of hearing noises. "Sienna!" Oliver didn't manage to catch me in time. He looked at me anxiously, seemingly panicking. I ended up in the hospital again. Blearily, I could vaguely make out the conversation between Oliver and my doctor.

I could not make out the words, but the tone required no translation whatsoever. Excited. Completely and thoroughly excited. I smiled before I was fully aware I was doing it. I stood and crossed to the window, pressing one hand flat against the glass. It was cold enough that I felt it all the way up my wrist. Outside, snow drifted through the pale morning air in slow, unhurried curtains.

“Detective, уоu have mу wоrd оn оnе thing. Whеn thіѕ оvеr, I’m coming fоr уоu. I’m соmіng hаrdеr thаn уоu’vе еvеr seen аnd I’m not coming аlоnе.” I lооk аwау.
