“I think even Elliott no longer believes it—and he’s only ten.” Elliot Calloway growled again. He was in the same class as I was. Calm, reserved, and kind, but he always followed his cousin, Drake, along. One minute he would sit with me at lunch, and the next, he would join this group to laugh at me. “No, no, I agree with Nathan!” Selene said excitedly. “The Moon Goddess can tell us who we are mated with.” “Boo-hoo,” mocked Drake. “But, well, it is better than being here. Full Moon celebration is boring.”

Stephen smirked. “Yeah you’re right. This place fits me well.” They all talked for a while but now it was getting dark the moon was coming out. “We should probably go inside.” Greg said. “I think the supper’s also ready.” Stephen told. Dara kept on looking at the moon. It seemed as the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. Ellen shook Dara, “Come on honey it’s getting dark and cold.” Dara went inside with her family but she wished to stare at that beautiful thing for a little longer.

I had gotten Frankie and that had been the desire of my heart, but the reality that I was the next Luna to our people made my heart so full it felt as if it could burst. I asked what it looked like as I realized I had never actually looked at the Conway Alpha mark that Luna Fran wore as well. “It’s a silhouette of a howling wolf’s head and neck, with a wolf within it howling at a crescent moon and stars,” he said and kissed the area sending a fresh wave of sparks through me.

The upcoming full moon night held the promise of more beautiful moments to come, and I couldn't wait to share them with Adolph by my side. ************ The excitement in the air was palpable as the Moonlight pack prepared for the upcoming full moon night. In just two days, the moon would cast its radiant glow upon the land, marking a time of unity and celebration for the pack. The anticipation was evident in the smiles and chatter that filled the air, as both young and old looked forward to the enchanting night that lay ahead.

She is wearing a white dress as yellow orbs illuminating it. “Here we bless the new Priestess of the Moon, Luan” a woman said and move closer to her. A crown made of silver was placed on her head. “Thee I bless Luan the grace and voice to cradle anyone in pain” another woman comes up and touch the crown, this time it turns clear like water. Five more women bless her, with every blessing her crown turns to different shade and now its black. Then a man came up, he looks exactly like the man who just kissed her.

I followed the path, and soon it spilled out onto the Standing Stones. Seven stones stood in a circle, and mosaic tiles had been set in a circular fashion to the center, where the image of the Moon Goddess was etched on the center circular tile. The gray stones were illuminated blue in the bright moonlight. Everyone stood around the outside of the circle holding their candles.

Margo says as we start to eat. “We should probably wait until after Tuesday. I think after Thursday would be best,” Beth tells her. “Oh right. New moon and all that.” They’ve lost me there. “New what? What’s going on? “New moon,” Beth replies. “It’s when the moon isn’t visible in the sky. It affects our condition. Makes us almost normal. We can’t smell, hear, or heal as fast. I’m not going to be pelted with paintballs being normal!”

He tilts his head, exposing his neck. I mark him. He is mine as I am his. As for Cane, that’s something to discuss later, months later. My mark doesn’t look like his. It is reddish…the color of a blood moon. It is done. We are bound. Our lips crash together with reckless abandon. I don’t want to wait, and I don’t think he does either. My mark glows and his does too. We rip our clothes off and devour each other. It is only us. No eyes. No pack. Just us expressing our love for each other. We mate again. Our bond is stronger than before. The sun is starting to set by the time we return to the ranch. The whole pack is waiting. Frank steps forward. “Welcom our new co-alpha and Luna.” Everyone che

“Are you okay?” “I’m fine!” the teen said quickly. I smiled at him. “Good. If you so much as find a bruise I want to know it, alright?” I looked over to Ellory with a wicked smirk. “We’ll include it in what Damian has to pay for when he loses.” The new moon symbolized the board wiping clean, the scales rebalancing, and the birth of a new era. That was why New Moon Park was the only acceptable place for a challenge.

I could tell they were his. We get in his car and we start driving. I often stare out the window watching the rain slide across the soft, cold glass. Go! Be free! I tell them. New Moon is coming soon. Not every pack does this but my pack has a New Moon celebration on every New Moon. It's supposed to mean, new chances and being able to start over. And I love believing that.
