My hands shook so badly I had to wedge them securely between my knees just to hold them totally still. I stared blankly at the back of Kaz's thick neck. I waited for the sick game to reach its final, bloody conclusion. I just wanted them to get it over with. Kenzo noticed the absolute terror rolling off my skin. He leaned slightly toward me. The leather seat creaked under his weight. He kept his voice low and gentle, trying to defuse the crushing tension in the dark cabin. "Relax, berry," Kenzo whispered. "We aren't going to eat you today."

Tobias shrugs. “Could be. Or maybe they are trying to scare us, and they are playing with us. Who knows.” Tobias says. He turns to me, and I can help but feel defeated. “We have to treat everything as a threat at this point. We don’t know what this means. And what the hell does this symbol at the bottom of the note mean?” I snatch the note out of Tobias’ hand and stare at the symbol. “I dunno. I’ve never seen anything like it.” Tobias slumps back in his chair.

She moved with purpose, kneeling beside her and studying her like she was looking through her, not at her. Beside me, Tora tensed. I tightened my hold around her and pressed a soft kiss on top her head, again to help ground us both. “Their bodies are here,” Chelsea said slowly, her voice low and uncertain, “but I can’t feel Koa. Or Tabby’s Dragon.” A heavy, almost suffocating silence fell over the room. “What?” Ben asked, his eyes darting to Nik. “How does that happen?” Nik glanced at Derek, both of them clearly shaken. “I’ve never seen anything like this,” Nik admitted. Derek gave a tight nod of agreement.

Their abduction has taught them peace. “Alright, ladies,” he said. “Time to go home, your family is waiting.” He snapped his fingers. They all disappeared into a bright light. Zuka walked out from behind an oak tree. He has been hiding under the tree observing everything that is going on. He wouldn’t want to interfere but paid close attention to Lucas. He hissed loudly like an angry snake. “I will get to you,” he mumbled. Engaging with Lucas with his pack around him to fight alongside him would have been his end. Just like Lydo was killed, he feared Lucas would use the same method on him. He witnessed Lucas’ rage against Jones but did nothing for fear he might be next to die.

Mason "So, when did you figure out you were into guys too?" Niko's voice is light, teasing, the smirk practically audible. I roll my eyes, but there's no real heat behind it. Niko's just being Niko right now. We just finished The Conjuring—my choice, of course—and while Niko didn't outright admit to being scared, he'd spent half the movie burying his face in my shoulder. Which is crazy because he's the one who suggested we watch a horror movie.

But even when she did, it never made her want to run away like the way she was feeling now. Pike was right. Hazel became stronger. She even had the whole room engulfed in a suppressing cold aura. Fighting her was suicide. "Is that fear I see in your eyes? Who would've thought Nebra Vause, the rogue alpha, would be afraid of me." Hazel laughed mockingly, covering half of her face with her palm. "Afraid of you? Don't be delusional. I would be unable to hold my head up high in the future if word got out that I got scared of you." Nebra refuted in disgust.

Jackie Chan's new movie when Zeke told us to stop. "Let's watch horror." He said with authority and went first to the horror line. I look at the poster and I gulped at the scary picture of the nun. We look at each other and change gazes. We just sighed and follow Zack. "Useless," Zack murmur. ###

Hibiki found us in the shoe department trying to get the right size shoes for Violet, who was in meltdown mode. “NO!” Violet shrieked. Her shrieks of anger turned into a giggle as she was suddenly scooped off the bench and held upside down. “No? Are you the no monster?” Hibiki laughed. “N...No…” Violet giggled. “Well, if you see the No Monster, give her this for me….” He laughed as he started tickling Violet. As she squirmed and giggled, her meltdown vanished.

Hana winked at Zeci, and Zeci immediately rushed up and hit the door hard again. Ouch. With each piece of wood falling on Hana's head covered with wood and moss, Zeci was more fortunate because it flew away before the kick swept the door. A broom flew out as if looking for someone, Hana hiding behind the edge of the door still dangling from the tree in fear. What space am I going to, giant, witch broomstick! Hana thought to herself. The enlarged yellow eyes in front of Hana made her so scared that she almost fell to the ground. It stared at Hana, its breath like a hurricane's wind, each breath as if it were about to blow Hana away.
