The skinny ninja who had just stepped forward and was trying to do what Jai had just said he would, changed his mind and stepped back while raising his arms. He even let his knife go and thunder immediately shot at that falling knife—flicking it away and the weapon stabbed into the wall behind him. The ninja flinched from the speed. Jai tilted his head back and looked at Hayate in the eyes. His eyes were still glowing, and that made him look very menacing. “Made your choice, Hayate.” Hayate swallowed nervously.

They also like coating their blades with highly toxic substances so their opponents cannot escape death even if they were to fail in the upfront assassination. In case they fail, the toxins would work their magic and eventually kill the opponent. A minute had passed and Aota was still unable to detect any movement from Charlie. His hearing had covered almost the entire park and after a moment, he concluded that there was only one living being in the park, and that was himself.

I should have trusted my first instincts. “So why the whole fucking charade?” I ask. “What’s going on here?” “Well, it all has to do with that serial killer from September. He’s not a random psychopath. He’s Ninja.” Fuck. My fears confirmed. Ninja was the code name of Nick Jin, a former PSK who went rogue and was therefore turned over by THEM to the Feds. He was known as Ninja because, prior to joining THEM, he used the disguise of a ninja and used various samurai weapons to murder his victims. If Nick Jin really has gotten free and is on the loose, that is bad news for THEM.
