I shot Nina an apologetic look.
"Go on," she urged, giving my arm a reassuring squeeze.
I nodded and made my way upstairs, each step feeling heavier than the last. As I entered Mrs. Grey's office, she didn't look up from the papers on her desk. "Sit," she ordered.
I complied, perching on the edge of the chair, my hands clasped tightly in my lap to hide their trembling.
"There's been a new development," Mrs. Grey began, her voice coolly professional. "Damien was attacked in his room last night."
