William must have read these novels over and over for the outside covers to look so worn. I picked up the book on top of the stack, flipping to the first page. It was a cozy mystery, one that I had read. My heart did a funny little flip and I couldn’t help but think about book store dates with him. Of nights spent curled up on the couch, the two of us both reading while the fire kept us warm. It wasn’t a thought I should be having. I couldn’t date William, sure he had claimed me, but I was going to get us out of here. Then I’d never see him or his brothers again.

William closed the book, setting it aside. The door opened and the maid walked in, nodding politely. “Sir, you have a visitor. She's waiting for you at the living room,” the maid informed. “She?” William wondered. This will be the first time a female is coming to visit him. Could it be Cecilia, his cousin? William kissed Jessica's lips before standing up, “I'll be back,” he muttered before leaving. William left the room, walking downstairs to the living room. His steps slowed down when his gaze landed on the back of a woman who stood before a portrait, her hands running through it. She had long curly red hair.

I didn't like the tone of her voice and the look on her face but I held my peace and quietly exit the car “I knew one day the werewolf and vampires will come onboard” William jecked “ William!” I cried out and banged the car door unconsciously before running off when I saw the hard glare on mums face. I am surely going to have Williams's head Running into my room, not having what else to do I sat in front of my makeshift table in my room and opened the latest novel I was reading and started going through it. The buzz of my phone got my attention and my face widened with a smile when I saw who was calling

William quickly picked it up and handed it back to her. “You like reading Miss QM’s novels too?” William asked, pointing to the book cover. Olivia nodded slightly. “Yes. I really like the way she writes. It feels… real.” William smiled. “I’ve read one too. Her characters are strong.” Olivia hugged the novel tightly. “Yes, sometimes it makes me think about a lot of things.” They both fell silent for a moment. Only the sound of birds in the trees could be heard. Then William said softly, “If James keeps bothering you, you can tell me. I don’t like seeing people act the way he did.”

I really need to get out into the sun soon; I’m becoming progressively paler the longer I stay indoors. I finish my shower quickly and wrap the towel tightly around myself. When I step out, William is sitting on the couch, cross-legged, his head and focus deep into a copy of Haruki Murakami’s A Wild Sheep Chase. Either Murakami is weaving hypnotic magic with his words, or William is pretending to be so engrossed in his novel he doesn’t look up or acknowledge me.
