The huge black wolf’s muzzle was matted in blood and I could see a crimson pool spreading around Onyx. If I could just get to him, I knew that I could save him. Soxor wouldn’t allow it, though. Lena, speechless, grabbed onto anything she could reach. "If you want to lose those guards who are following us, just hold on tight. Relax and enjoy the ride," Onyx said, his voice laced with amusement. He pressed down on the gas pedal, the car roaring as it sped down the road, causing Mia to scream in terror.

Onyx waved his hand and slipped it inside his pocket. "You f*ucking w*hore!" Owen yelled, and Onyx's head shot back at him. Onyx's eyes darkened as he trembled with wrath. "Say that again! I dare you!" His chest shuddered with wrath as he growled. Not a single word came out of Owen's mouth as he started trembling in fear starting into Onyx's haunting eyes. Ophelia was shocked beyond words at Onyx's reaction and all she could do was let Onyx drag her to the elevator. Ophelia didn't realize she was staring at Onyx until he looked down at her and she cleared her throat. She took a step away from his arm, and his grip on her waist loosened.

At the dominant move, her wolf backed down a little. “I’m not disregarding you,” Onyx told her in a low voice. “I just don’t want to scare you off. I don’t have pretty stories wrapped in red bows, Tasha. I don’t have fun memories to exchange with you. I wish I did, but I don’t.” He drew circles on her throat with his thumb. “I meant it when I said you deserve better, but I also meant it when I said I wasn’t selfless enough to leave you alone. I can’t risk you running even faster than you already are.” As she nervously licked her bottom lip, a growl rumbled out of him. “Do you have any idea how much I want you? Any idea how much I want to know what’s like to be buried deep inside you?”
