someone mutters. “Flame marks and glowing eyes,” another chortles, tapping ash off a cigar. “What’s next? Dragons in the woods?” More laughter. The kind people use to push fear away. To bury unease under noise. But Orion’s not laughing. His fingers freeze mid-drum. The air around him folds in, quiet and sharp. Deep blue eyes. A mark shaped like flame. His mind trips over the image uninvited—a girl curled beneath him, skin flushed with sweat, the small flicker of something dark and orange tucked at her hip, barely noticed then.

I close my eyes shut and open them. Dora's eyes filled with tears, she slowly kneels in the middle of the road, there was still a little black stain on the ground from the accident, she uses her shaky hands to touch it "I don't want to believe you're the one who's gone". I walk close to her and place my hands on her shoulder "soon everything will be revealed" my eyes suddenly caught something, it was an old man with a homeless look, sited in a small wooden caravan, selling some very cheap fake jewellery.

I couldn't imagine Alpha Adam Hayes would be there, being one of her warriors or worse, her slave. "We need a ride. I mean a ride ride!" Orora stressed out. "Something huge that can fly high!" "You mean a dragon!" I could tell what she meant. "Yes! At least, we don't only have a ride, but we also have a weapon just in case!" She ambled to the shelves of her potion and took three different vials. Shiva and I squinted our eyes. We had no idea what she was going to do next. Orora seemed to get our curious look that she gently put the three vials on the wooden table. "This is the rabbit's eyes!" We grimaced at the first bottle she pointed to. The fermented eyes of the rabbit were big and round.

"She's still a Princess, and you have to respect her even if you hate her, because you serve her now!" She made a disgusted sound. "Not like the bitch can hear me anyways," Gods help me. "I wouldn't say that, Emilia," I spoke, before opening my eyes. "If none of you want me to... Do what I do... I suggest that you don't look me in the eye!" Then opened them, trying to get used to the light of the room. The doctor came closer. "Don't worry, kid, I came prepared. I'm using dark glasses. Now look at me, let me see your eyes," he held my chin and I looked up.

She frowned, and put her head down on the table, and closed her eyes for a moment. Dimitri and Pete walked through the door, Pete went to work on the soup, Ivan whispered to Dimitri about her arms. He looked over but said nothing. Pete cleared this throat, and Jade looked up. Her eyes a pale gray, almost white startled him he dropped the bowl of soup shattering the bowl when it hit the ground. He broke his stare, and grabbed a cloth, “My apologies you're eyes aren't as gray as they used to be. It’s almost a pale white,” he whispered.

“Your eyes! They’re so pretty!” My eyes? “What’s wrong with my eyes?” She stood up and moved the life size mirror towards my direction. My hands went to my cheek. I walked up towards the mirror closer. “Mom! My eyes!” They’re yellow. Amber, specifically. Just like dad’s and Lathre’s. “Is this normal mom?” I don’t think I’ll get used to it. “After your awakening, your eyes changed permanently. I’m just glad you’re awake now Lorcé. Miraculously, your body doesn’t seem to be weak now.”

My mom covered her mouth with her hands when a little gasp escaped her. "Evolet...your eyes..."Oren said, pointing a shaking finger at my eyes. My talons are covered in the mystical glow of our luminous blood. He holds a glowing gold orb in his palm as he roars once more. I watch as he pushes the golden orb into her chest. Her oily black eyes close as he does it and her body jerks in our talons. It jerks so hard that he nearly loses his grip on her.
