Elias raised his arm covered in steel to support it. Unexpectedly, one jumped behind Lily, it opened its mouth full of long, pointed fangs, drooling at Lily. She screamed in despair, reaching out her right hand towards the beast. Suddenly, a beam of light from the red crescent-shaped birthmark in the center of Lily's right palm hit the beast. Both animals were immediately drawn to the roadside stand of two stone statues. Neither Lily nor Elias understood what was happening. Lily's body seemed to exude that power, so she lost her strength and fainted. Elias whirled around, taking her in his big palm.

What I don't know is their personalities though. Owen has the most deep ruby eyes I have ever seen. He has this dead look in his eyes that makes him look fierce yet sexy at the same time. His hair is pitch black, and so long. He wears it wavy, and I have seen it in a ponytail; it all looks divine. He is so tall compared to the three of them, and also the hugest of them. If ‘hugest’ is ever a word. I just cannot find the right words to describe him. He has these muscles that he doesn’t even sweat to show them off, they are just there. He looks maybe twenty years old or so, he isn’t that older than me. And I guess I am a little bit attracted to him more than the other two.

Not really energetic enough to walk back, the brunette sat with her back resting on a tree and her eyes started scanning the place around her. "A nice forest?" Ruby commented, releasing a deep breath and looking down at her hands in sadness, "Did you really have to go, Mira? You promised and now...what am I supposed to do?" She whispered lowly, her eyelids needed sleep but she was too afraid to close her eyes. She heard a twig snap and looked around in alarm. Ruby gasped at what she saw, frozen in place as she stared at yellow eyes with amber-gold swirls. Eyes that belonged to a wolf. A werewolf.

It’s not only a more direct route, it’s a way to make sure we aren’t spotted by any humans. Ruby doesn’t tire easily, especially since she hasn’t had a chance to run for so long, so she keeps her speed up as she runs over uneven ground, across fallen pine needles and piles of leaves, leaping over small streams, and cutting around any fences or other barriers that rose up in front of us.

** Ryder’s POV ** The air in the forest smells of pine and damp earth. I love being out here at this time of day, just before twilight, when the world starts to still. It usually settles my wolf, but not today. Today, he’s practically pacing with excited anticipation. The softer scent of sweet wax and smoke drifts in as I light the candles we’ve set all around. I breathe it in and let my gaze sweep across the clearing, forcing myself to see it the way Paige will. It needs to be perfect. No, it needs to be better than perfect. She deserves more. She deserves everything I never gave her when we were young.

Roots and Rings The morning air in Pine Wood was crisp, carrying the scent of pine needles and damp earth. Evandra stretched as she stepped out into the pack house courtyard, where Osiris was already waiting—bare-chested, of course, with his axe slung over one shoulder as though he’d just stepped out of a saga. “You wake later than the sun,” he teased, eyes twinkling. She rolled her eyes, smirking. “Some of us don’t fall asleep like a log the moment our head hits the pillow.”

The tree corners were hollow, the skeletons were bare as if a very long time had passed through them. In the middle of the dead zone, there was a young man standing there, he just stood still and did nothing, his eyes that were once a peaceful blue now turned a crimson color like blood. Around him, the black aura kept circling, wherever it went, life disappeared. The trees withered, the land arid, the animals left with only dry skeletons. "Don't you feel like a waste of natural resources? Mr. Owen?" Ryder stood quite a distance away, his eyes in the black night glowing a slightly reddish pink, his thin lips softly sarcastic.

"He such a bastard," "Everyone knows that. Just ignore him and don't let him get under your skin," Came the reply and Onyx patted her back, crouching on the grass, and folded her legs. Gwen soon joined. "Oswald is a curious wolf. When he finds something interesting, he won't stop till he finds what makes that thing unique and in this case, I believe he wishes to know what triggered his wolf and why you drove him crazy," "He's destined to my childhood friend, I can't believe she never told me. I thought it was just a mare crush," Gwen uttered with her head lowering.

Oswin instantly yanked on the horse's saddle, and it came to a stop on its own. A two-story white Victorian home stands just a few meters from us. The white marble and numerous glass windows give it an air of refined elegance. The design is spare, yet it appears to be well received. Both fire trees and simple hedges frame the home's front yard. Nothing flowery or trite will do. "What are we going to deliver?" Oswin asked as he shared the checklist with me.
