Suddenly, there was a series of bangs. Sean was thumping wildly on the ground in the underground basement. The strong poison was making the blood vessels in his body twist together like pretzels. His blood was ricocheting and boiling, making all the veins on his body bulge. He turned a bright red all over, and some parts of his body were even a dark purple! It was a sign of an imminent blood vessel explosion! "Aargh!" Sean opened his mouth wide and growled in pain, but he could not make a sound. It felt as if there was a fish bone stuck in his throat.

I rip my shirt open and I see water rolling down my body as if it's a hot summer's day. Something catches my eye. My veins start turning black , and like almost black blood begins to flow up to my arms. Standing up , I limp to the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. The pain begins to double and triple - I hold onto the sink. The black blood or substance travels through every vein in my body, even the eye vein - turning the whites of my eyes black. I feel it flow as it leaves a trail of pain behind. My teeth begin to hurt and I begin to loose conciousness as the pain becomes unbearable.

The handsome alpha peers at me doubtfully. “Oh, so little faith. This part I could do with my eyes closed.” Which I might have to, I think, seeing the edges of my vision beginning to blur and white out. Selecting a vein quickly, I thread the IV needle into it, then press the securing protective adhesive onto his flesh. As I’m attaching the fluid and starting the pump, the white is constricting from the periphery of my sight towards the center, leaving me a narrow tunnel to finish adjusting the drip.

He splashed water on his face, trying to wash away the heat in his skin. He ripped the bandage off his shoulder and looked at the wound. The hole was still open, the size of a quarter. The flesh around it wasn't red or pink like a normal wound. It was gray. That was not the only thing that was unusual about it. There was a web-like vein spreading from the wound all the way to his neck.

The wind howled violently, scratching at my throat until I felt an itch that seemed to make me want to cough. "Enough talking. Choose, or I'll let them both go." At Amber's signal, the men next to us hoisted both me and Tara up. The salty sea breeze hit me in the face, and the sharp smell of ocean water churned my stomach.
