I sat up in the darkness of the master suite and began a frantic reorganization of the fourteen different pillows I had accumulated since we arrived in Italy. Dominic stirred beside me as I shoved a firm decorative bolster under my knees and jammed a cooling gel pillow behind my lower back for the fifth time that hour. I was building a literal fortress of down-filled silk in an attempt to find a single angle that didn't make me feel like an overturned turtle in a designer nightgown. "If you are planning on annexing the entire eastern side of the mattress I would appreciate a formal notice of your intent to colonize my sleeping space," Dominic muttered with a sleepy and gravelly voice.

SIERRA’S POV The sleepover. I watched them from the kitchen doorway. Louis was on the floor of the giant living room, surrounded by every pillow and blanket he could find. We spend the next few minutes grabbing all the pillows in the room and arranging them down the middle of the bed like we're building a fortress for protection. I crawl under the sheets on one side, and he gets in on the other.

After that, we piled on blankets and pillows, creating a cozy fortress. Shie and I couldn't stop giggling the whole time, amazed at how the pillows stayed intact despite our haphazard stacking. “And we are done, this is the best fortress I have ever made, even compared to what Arnold and I build.” she happily clapped her hands. I nodded before taking a photo of it, “I love the Christmas and fairy lights inside of the fortress, it’s like we are sleeping under the stars.” “Agreed! Oh my gosh, let’s go grab some snacks and eat now!” Shie ran towards the counter to get our snacks and drinks.

She also grabbed the pillow in my hand and placed it on top of her pillow to form what looked like a fort, and shook my head. Didn’t she know that if I wanted to do something to her, that pillow fort won’t hold up as a deterrent? CHASE The pillow wall was hilarious in theory. In practice, it was a joke.
