When you know the other person can do anything for you. “Exactly!” Liviana smiles, a blissful sigh as she closes her eyes, focusing on the feel of the music vibrating in her bones, swaying as she lets her worries fall away. If she knew this is all it would take to catch this feeling of serenity, she would of gotten drunk a lot sooner. It was just her and her girls. No one else in the world existed. There were no problems, no stress, no hate. It was just peace. And it was this moment that Liviana made herself a new promise. A promise that from here on out, she would do everything in her power to protect her peace.

"That we’re here. That after everything, we’re finally at peace." Leo squeezed my hand, his thumb gently stroking the back of it. "I know. It feels like we’ve been running for so long, always fighting, always trying to protect something. But now… we can just be." I closed my eyes, letting his words wash over me. "I don’t think I ever let myself believe we could have this." "But we do," he said firmly, turning to kiss the top of my head. "And we’ll protect it. No more wars. No more enemies."

Not broken. Just… at peace.

Alma had never experienced this, though the young girl stared at Alma with excitement and curiously, Alma could also see that the same eyes had two meaning. Her eyes were clearly screaming, “read my future, I dare you.” Alma smiled at the young girl, she would rather not show that she feared the seven-year-old. “Alma, did you ever see the protectors?” The young girl asked as smiled brightly at her. “Yes, and I'll tell you the story” Alma said as she smiled at the girl. “The protectors are the chosen ones of the Sovereigns. They are the strongest, fastest and most powerful of each race,” Alma wheezed out, trying to suppress a cough.

I can't keep my real nature forever and that'll make me die sooner or later either. "Man, don't say that. You can also find peace in life, and that peace would be someone who'll protect you and you'll find peace for each other." Those words were wise and a very helpful advise, it's juicy yet it didn't touched my soul as if it has barriers. I hope he can just tell that to someone who needed that the most.

Ambrosia POV: The ability to have, maintain and keep peace within yourself is one of the most important things a person can do for themselves. I have lived a very long time and was never able to fully know what it meant to have peace within yourself until now. I wasn't really sure where I was, darkness was all around me, I didn't feel as if I was in danger, I actually felt rather calm. I looked around around to see a light in the distance, I decided to follow it, surely it can't be anything bad right? I wondered where Sage was. I miss her and could really use someone to talk to so I could check in with everyone. I was only supposed to rest for a minute. How long has it been? My mind was raci

I didn’t want to ruin this moment, whatever it was. So instead, I said nothing. And neither did he. Eventually, my breathing slowed. The tightness in my chest began to ease. And for the first time in a long while, I felt sleep pulling at me not from exhaustion, but peace. As I drifted closer to sleep, I whispered one last thought. Not out loud. Just to myself. Maybe… just maybe… he wanted to protect me too.

Just light, returning again. And I understand, finally, what peace costs. Not vigilance. Participation. Every day. Together.

“I am not here to fight. Only to be present. That is all.” And for the first time, I allowed myself to hope that perhaps, finally, a chapter of peace could exist in our lives. Not complete peace, not trust without caution, but enough for us to exist in the same space without fear, enough for Amari to grow surrounded by protection and family, even if it was complicated. I looked down at Amari, his small hand curling slightly around my finger. “See, little moon?” I whispered. “We are safe for now. Papa and everyone else, we are all here to protect you.”
