A premonition. The shaman’s voice—precaution, Aiden, use precaution—echoes in the back of my mind, a ghostly whisper against the hum of the engine. Then it began—deep, primal, undeniable. A tremor spread through my bones, a warning before the storm. My skin prickled, as if needles were stabbing from the inside. My breath hitched, my heartbeat thundering against my ribs. I knew what was coming. I always did. But that didn’t make it any easier.
