She'd chosen her outfit carefully—a black dress that was elegant enough for Venom's party but practical enough to fight in if necessary. The knife strapped to her thigh was hidden by the fabric, and the small communication device Ghost had given her was concealed in her jewelry.

Raven placed his left hand on the hawk symbol on a chestnut leaf. ‘Hawk let us trough so we can go where we want to,’ he muttered out loud. In a flash, they were on the other side of the door, down a narrow hallway with a flight of stairs. Maddie smelled the scent of damp earth and rotten leaves. The scent of the forest.

Chapter 2 Aurora's POV I stared at my uncle's house one more time as I stood at the facade. My eyes darted to the flowers that decorated the porch and the white frangipani trees that were planted in a straight pattern. I could remember feeling whole whenever I inhaled the vanilla scent of its flowers. The beautiful bungalow I had known to be home wouldn't be one anymore. Finally, I'd found a way to convince my uncle on my revenge mission. I had to do it for my sanity to remain intact and also to honor my late parents. They didn't deserve to die as the reason for their death still sounded trivial to me.

Telephone poles were ripped from the ground, their sparks setting fire to dumpsters.

She wasn't the type who would just try to kill herself for fun, but then again, I'd never known Hannah to be a liar. “I fail to see how I could have possibly attacked someone who was strangling me in a tub,” Raven asserted. What?! ‘You know she didn't do it. Hannah would never hurt a fly!’ Rolfe immediately defended. And Raven has no reason to lie. She doesn't hide her intentions or pretend to be something she's not. ‘But she is cunning! Why are you even defending her? Hannah is right here with us. Our true mate! Why the hell are you bothered about Raven?’ Rolfe scoffed.

She walked to her now perfectly arranged closet, thanks to Run, and took off the towel, standing naked and picking out a jogger and hoodie. "Did you get those scars from hunting again?" "It doesn't matter" "Of course it does! You go hunting, alone, and those stupid humans chase you down for your fur everytime and you always come back with things that refuse to heal even though we normally heal almost immediately...
