Raven growled inside of him. The smirk on Rick's face widened as he stared at Raven fearlessly. "We'll see about that.”

Then—clap. Slow. Deliberate. Raven. She rose, still clapping. Her smile now full of teeth. And then, as if she were a conductor, the crowd started clapping too, cheering me. My eyes dimmed. My chest rose and fell like waves. My mark’s bright glowing colour faded to nothing. Raven approached, eyes gleaming with something ancient. “Welcome to the club,” she said, stepping beside me, slinging an arm over my shoulder. “What’s your name?”

The interior glows with warm, golden light, soft white curtains flutter by the balcony, the scent of the sea drifts through open windows, and faint music hums from the speakers Everything feels calm… safe. Raven walks ahead of me, her bare feet silent on the polished wooden floor. She runs her hand along the marble counter and lets out a small, breathy laugh. “This place is unreal,” she says, turning to face me. Her smile, goddess, I missed that smile. “It’s all yours,” I say softly “Consider it home for as long as you want.” Her gaze softens, and for a brief moment, I see something pure flicker in her storm-gray eyes , peace, maybe even happiness.

Her heartbeat was racing and it feels like it wants to get out of her chest. She may look calm from the outside but everyone in that room knew all damn well what's the truth. Raven's infuriated. They were all expecting Raven to burst in anger when she suddenly stood up but everyone was petrified when a lopsided smile played in her lips. Even Zarek who most of the time ignore Raven because he hates her guts, was frozen in his place. It was that kind of smile– a scary one.

“And you haven’t let them down.” Raven lifted her head, searching his face, finding only truth in his eyes. “You scare them, you know?,” she said, a small smirk breaking through. “Good,” Ragnar replied, a playful edge in his voice as his thumb traced along her jaw. She laughed softly, the sound surprising even her, and Ragnar’s eyes warmed, the storm settling into something quiet, something safe. “They see us,” Raven said, her voice dropping lower, vulnerability slipping through her Alpha mask. “Together.”

And yes, I got what I wanted. “ I wasn't planning anything. I really collapsed… That's the truth” I said, smiling faintly and mischievously. Raven sighed and shut her eyes in frustration. By the time she would open her eyes, I was already sitting on the bed, consuming the oat she made.
