My voice did not shake. The man tilted his head. He didn't have a face, just a shifting darkness where his features should be. "You can call me the Reader," he said. His voice sounded like paper rubbing together. "I am the one who pays for the ink. I am the one who decides if your story ends here or keeps going." Bryan stepped in front of me, his hand on his pistol. "He’s another code, Hazel. Don’t listen to him." The Reader laughed. It was a dry, thin sound. "A copy thinks he has a choice. How cute."

June’s POV “You need to go out more, Harry. You just can’t keep hiding inside forever, the weather is so nice and you can’t afford to waste such a good day indoor” This is actually the tenth time I’ll be asking Harry to go out and stop staying indoor all day with me reading him boring books like medical books. Even though those books might end up being helpful to me, that’s if I decide to go back to medical school. I still find those books boring.

Kendra sat in the library with the book, The Hobbit, opened on her lap. When Rex had first shown the room that was lined with books to her, she’d been both intimidated and overwhelmed. She was taught to read by Olga, but the availability of reading material was limited. Therefore, her reading skills were wanting.

Akira who was still trying to catch her breath raised her index finger, she caught her breath and replied, “that spell did not only reveal things about me.” The next bend they took brought them to the reading table where they met rune who was already seated with a large volume of books piled up before him in threes and fives. He was not happy with what he was seeing, “where's the books you went to get?” He asked. “Here…” Orion answered as he tossed the copy of Harry Potter he held to Rune. “theres no way that you're serious about this, a children's book?” He asked. “A children's book that is loved by adults….”

"What are you reading? Besides the textbook." The change in subject threw me. "Um, I just finished The Stand by Stephen King." His eyes lit up. "The Stand? That's over a thousand pages. You actually finished it?" "I've read it three times," I admitted. "Three times?" He looked genuinely impressed. "Most people won't even read it once because of the length." "The length is part of the appeal," I said, feeling slightly more confident talking about books. "You get to live in that world for longer, get to know the characters so deeply. It's like being part of something bigger than yourself."

The town library looked like a setting from “The Harry potter” movie. There were a lot of old books and creaky wooden chairs. This is the only library in town and not many people pay attention to the library. They get their news from their phones. No one wants to read in the library anymore, maybe just for research.

A familiar book for the ride back. Jeffrey leaned closer. “What are you reading?” I didn’t look up. “Philip’s Room by Raven Black.” He looked stunned. “No fucking way! For real?”

We talked and talked till the manager of the restaurant himself came to tell us that it was too late and he had to shut the bar. I came to know so much about him. His favourite things, how he despised coffee, which I would like to change his opinion on. How he love to read, his love for literature, which I can already guess from the giant library he had back in the castle. He had a huge collections of charlotte Brontë, Virginia wolf and of course Jane Austin. Alpha Reed Xander is a mercurial man but with astonishing talents. Still one thing I hate about him most is how he keep hiding things from me even after I told him I hate it. Ugh! He is already in my head.

She had insisted on helping me do it but I had bluntly refused. She was almost at the verge of tears as she watched me throughout the entire process, lending a hand at any chance she got. It wouldn't be special if I let her do everything. “Xander?” I called from outside the closed door to his bedroom, holding the offering. I opened the door when I didn't get any response and I saw him seated at the edge of his bed, reading a novel. “Harry Potter!” I exclaimed, hastening my steps towards him. “That's my absolute favorite. I didn't know you read.”

He looks impressed, “Your mom tells me that you love reading. What’s your favorite book?” I glance at Mom, her face turning pink while Lacey looks down at her plate and starts eating. “I like E.L. James, Carly Phillips, Harper Sloan, and Nora Roberts. I’d happily curl up with any one of their books.” He frowns, “I’ve heard of Nora Roberts, but haven’t read any of her books, the others I can’t say I’ve ever heard of them.” “Oh you’d have heard of E.L. James, she wrote Fifty Shades Of Grey.” Lacey pipes up, and I watch in amusement as Harrison’s face falls as he realizes exactly what Fifty is all about. “What about you, Mr. Brady, do you read?”
