She smiled warmly as she gave me a side look, “Anytime. You know I'd do anything for you and Little One.” I rolled my eyes, but I didn't complain that she called him Little One. I was too tired. I took my seat and descended on the food. I hadn't had anything for hours and the food tasted great. “So, how was your day?” I asked her, as I stuffed cabbage in my mouth. “Not bad.” She said and dropped her fork so she can gesticulate freely. “We have a show next week Sunday at the theater. I'll be playing.” She announced, her eyes shining with pride.

So, why am I thinking about dating Tate? “He’s playing in Cali on June 18th and 19th. Shall I go ahead and book tickets?” Lilly asks. I nod my head emphatically. “Absolutely. Hold on, I’ll message to Tobias make sure he’s in.” I lean across Tate who blushes even more and rest one hand on her leg to steady myself so I can tap Tammy. She removes her ear pods. “What?” Like I disturbed her from some kind of different world and intruded on her space.

It’s not exactly white, it has sequins in them, so the effect is silvery. They were taken to a table and Mel quickly looked around. They’re seated near the platform, but no one’s playing. There’s no music and there’s the light chatter from the other customers. Klyde was just about to inwardly celebrate when he noticed how sad she was. I'm already working late because of the show today and now the one hour off is one hour more. "Max! I've been a diehard fan of yours for ten years! And today, I brought the person I love the most to watch your performance in the VIP first row! She even twisted her ankle for you! "I hope you'll give our relationship your blessings. Rock and roll forever!" Maxwell's eyes were sharp and cold as he cracked his knuckles loudly. "That idiot abandoned you in this dark, no-man's land, just so that he could bring another bitch to watch my performance?" I wiped my tears dry and stared at the private message, feeling the sadness in my heart turn into anger. "Your band's after-party will be held next week at the Grand Hilton Club, right?" I asked, looking up at him with determined eyes.

Then: "This afternoon? That's... a bit soon." "I apologize for the short notice. Emory has been begging me for this playdate all week, and I'm afraid I've been too busy with work to arrange it sooner." He paused. "You're welcome to stay, of course. We have plenty of space. And I promise the fossils are worth the trip." Another pause. Then a warm laugh. "All right. You've convinced me. What time should we be there?" "Two o'clock? I'll send the address."

“We know.” Jasmine rolled her eyes. “We’re doing paintball Saturday,” she told Rachel, skipping the dress war. “Then tower. Then stingers. Don’t let them be idiots.” Rachel snorted. “I can’t stop gravity.” Con jogged up dripping, pushed his curls off his face, and aimed a grin at Prue. “You coming Saturday?” Prue pretended to consider. “What’s in it for me?” “Victory party,” Con said. “My place. My mum’s doing lamb.”

“You did all that?” “Of course.” I kissed the top of her head. “Anything for you guys.” “Aww.” She pulled back, still grinning. “Thank you, Mom.” The excitement on her face was impossible to miss. “When’s the playdate?” “Saturday.” Her jaw dropped again. “Saturday?” “Yes.” “Oh my God.” She immediately started bouncing on the bed. “Can we talk before then?” I laughed. “Talk to who?” “Brooke!” The answer came so fast that I almost choked.

Safer, she added silently. He nodded in understanding. “Can we change topics? This is bringing the mood way down,” she said, a little too brightly. “Agreed. No need to cover absolutely every topic on the first date,” Rick grinned. “But I’d like to, eventually. If you’d like to go out again, that is.” “Wait a sec, let me check my social calendar,” she said in mock seriousness as she pulled out her phone. “Hmmm, the national bean counter’s convention isn’t until July, they haven’t published the cotillion schedule yet….”
