“It isn’t an engagement ring. Not yet. Relax, okay?” She let out a shaky half-smile, tension easing from her shoulders. “What’s in there then?” she asked, voice barely above a whisper. He opened the box. Nestled inside were two delicate rings. “Anthony…” she breathed. “It’s a promise ring,” he said, his smile deepening with pride as he showed her the design. “Both of our initials. An ‘A’ with a heart in the middle… Anthony loves Anna.” Anna’s eyes softened, a genuine, glowing smile spreading across her face as she traced the engraving with her gaze.
