The Sentinel’s eyes widened behind the mask as silver light coiled around his wrist, crushing bone with a sickening crack.
He screamed as the blade fell uselessly from his grip.
“You don’t get to touch me,” Aria said softly.
She closed her fist.
The light erupted outward, sending him flying across the clearing.
Rowan shifted back into his human form beside her, blood streaking his jaw.
“They’re retreating.” Indeed, the remaining Sentinels were pulling back, slipping into the shadows with disciplined precision.
“This isn’t over,” one called out.
“You’ve declared war.” Aria stepped forward, her voice carrying effortlessly through the dark.
