School1 Monday night, Ruth had one of those nightmares that psychoanalysts love to make a big deal out of. She dreamt that she was... no, it wasn't she. She dreamt that she was someone else, and she was naked in a public place, with everyone staring and pointing and making noise. She had some books, and a large notebook, and she tried to cover her breasts and crotch, but she dropped them, and people laughed when she couldn't cover herself with her hands. It was a frightening dream. It was just a fragment, really. Ruth figured that everyone has a dream like that sometime.

His mother told me he had been having these nightmares for a while. “No, they’re scary,” he said softly, clutching his mother’s arm and hiding his face. I sighed. I didn’t have luck with these kids. This wasn’t just our first interview. Graham and the others had already spoken to plenty of kids in the area, but they weren’t very talkative. They were terrible at explaining their dreams, which made sense since they were basically babies. Even the seven-year-olds couldn’t string words together. I could tell it was either from the sickness or the curse. Could’ve been anything.

As long as Dannie could remember, she had them. On a typical week, Dannie would suffer three to five nightmares. They were all similar in theme: death, mayhem, and suffering— all the good stuff. The nightmare was still fresh, playing on repeat behind my eyes. A burning kingdom,a man with silver eyes reaching for me, mouth moving in words I couldn't hear. Shadows swallowing everything the castle, the sky, the screaming people. And me, falling through darkness that tasted like death itself.

I pushed it open silently and entered. It was everything I had expected. The exact opposite of my room. The themes here were black and grey. Black furniture, grey walls, grey and white beddings. The air conditioning was off, but it was so damn cold in here, the air so tight I could hardly breathe. Or it was just the fact that I knew my presence here was wrong. It was much bigger than my room, obviously. And I liked it. I was someone who suffered from nightmares, but paradoxically, the darkness here, was calming.

Carina solemnly said. "Are you worried about Lona's warning?" "Uhuh. I also keep getting nightmares these days." She closes her eyes. The vivid images of her nightmares flashed by her mind. A dark and tall shadow is creeping out from under her bed. It's slowly approached her with a wide grin on its smoldered face. Its nails are long and sharp. Carina trembled in fright as she remembers its dangerous glints, full of vengeance and malice towards her. That shadow tried to touch her stomach while cackling boisterous laughter. Its laughter resounding in her dim-lit room, and Carina jolted up from her sleep, screaming in horror and fear.
