The truck sped across the muddy beaten path full of tire tracks from other vehicles. Lukas stared at the bright sky. Even if it was morning, the fact that the things they fight in the shadows existed made the world a dark one that no sunrise could ever illuminate. Back when he was living in ignorance, everything was colorful but when he was pulled into a battlezone where incarnated nightmares are the belligerents, everything just becomes black and white. And he thought that the Moro rebellion was dark enough. This conflict, simply known in the documents as the Shadow War, had made him see everything.

A translucent blue holographic map of the high northern ridges bloomed into life above the scarred oak table, casting a cool azure glow over their faces. Several tracking nodes along the outer perimeter were blinking with erratic fading gray signals. Liam leaned over the map, his massive frame effectively blocking the ambient chill of the room

Because the Shadow did not address the original Aria. It did not address the Keeper. It did not address the First Wolf. It looked directly at me and said, “Daughter.”

The shadow’s form expanded, feeding off the instability. “They shaped him to contain me,” it snarled. “But they underestimated fracture.” The burning city began collapsing again, faster now. Wolves screamed as timelines overlapped. Different eras bled into each other. Armored warriors. Lab-grown hybrids. Children with silver eyes. The loop was unraveling. I grabbed Zara’s hand tightly. “Listen to me,” I said urgently. “If what it’s saying is true” “It is,” the shadow interrupted. I ignored it.

"I don't want a fair fight, I want something more than that. I want the Dark Knight Pack to watch their Alpha crawl, I want them to see him choose a woman over his duty, and then I want them to watch me take both." He moved toward her, the needle glinting in the light. "— and you, Rebecca, are the perfect bait. A Luna who can't shift, a mother who can't protect her pup — you are the epitome of Kenziel’s failure." He grabbed her arm, his grip like a vice. Rebecca thrashed as the silver shackles tore at her skin but she was too weak, the serum was already dragging her senses back into the fog. "Don't..." She pleaded, her voice breaking.

The freaky end of days was coming. I faced the camera, my voice steady for all the people in the city to hear. "The freaky apocalypse is here, folks. I'm going to help you out as best I can. First up, find cover where the wind can't get you, subways, basements, factories, banks, any safe spot." Lights flickered on in every underground parking lot. The ground rumbled with a deep roar, setting the stage for Jim as he led his crew of infant spirits into a clash with the Haunts that sliced through the wind.

Raven stood, Shadow erupting from her in a wave of black and gold, tearing The Wraith’s darkness apart, shredding the shadows that clung to her. The Wraith staggered, his eyes wide, his power flickering. “You… what are you?” he gasped. Raven stepped forward, Shadow swirling around her, her gold eyes locked on his. “I am Shadowstorm.” She lunged, her blade a streak of black fire, slicing through the last of The Wraith’s defense, plunging into his chest. The Wraith screamed, shadows bursting from him, twisting, writhing, before being sucked into the blade, the darkness tearing away piece by piece.

And then, silence. A scream shattered the dusk. Not Ridge. Not Luna. Something inhuman. They came from the trees—figures cloaked in rot and shadows, twisted armor etched with claws and blood-writ glyphs. Hollow pack. Their stench struck first—metal turned sour, flesh long spoiled. Trisha moved before command was called. Her axe unslung in one motion, she veered left into the shadows where screams grew sharper. Serin roared, “West line! Fall to the crest!” even as Ridge archers loosed arrows overhead.

I really do hope she likes her birthday gift. It was special to me, my mother had given me the pendant to give to my fated but that never happened. I started walking towards the other end of the pack house to reach the Alpha's office. Roman has been acting really weird towards Shadow. I don't know what he has up his sleeve but me and my wolf Zaine don't like it one bit. We've grown overly protective of Shawdow in these past years. I enter through the pack house doors and make my way upstairs taking two steps at a time.
