I snatched a doily off of the side table and tried to wrap my arm but it soaked with blood instantly. Hashem was slowly getting to his feet and I turned to face him. “You are a traitor and you will die a coward’s death,” I said, in a whisper but loud enough for him to hear. I reached for my shard as he lunged toward me with a piece of glass. I was just barely able to move and he tried again to swipe at me, this time he connected and got my side. FUCK! I was going to pass out soon, it was too much. Blood, there was blood everywhere. The yelling, the voices and the footsteps were everywhere now, close and I heard the voices yelling in English.

“Sensible. If he slips up, and with this little war he currently has going, he could slip up, you guys don’t want to go down with him.” “Yeah, we know. We always mask up when we go, too,” Shadow added. “And Tempie wigs it, so we’d be hard to identify. You want to play?” He gestured to the game. They had, Raven decided, reached the end of Shadow’s knowledge on the subject of Gregory Holmsworth. “Nah,” Raven wanted to watch Shadow. “You play, I’ll watch.” “Okay.” Shadow was animated as he played the game, and for five minutes, Raven could look at him blatantly feeding that hunger, without having to meet the other man’s eyes and justify it, until Shadow cursed as he missed someone and was shot.

When the man began talking, it felt like he was covering her body in warm honey. "I must apologize to you. I'm Alpha Gunnar of The Shadow Howlers. My head warrior showed me evidence that you had been kidnapping humans. When I looked closer at the evidence, I couldn't determine if what he said was true, so I wanted to do more investigating. Omar?" Alpha Gunnar looked at the warriors, and the large one in front stepped forward, his neck bare in submission. "Yes, alpha." He answered in more of a growl. "Why have you set out to destroy this pack?" Gunnar asked. However, it wasn't Omar who answered.

Chapter 26: The Guardian of Shadows As Katherine and her fellowship breached the walls of the citadel, they found themselves face to face with a powerful adversary: the Guardian of Shadows, a towering figure clad in black armor and wielding a sword of pure darkness. "You dare to challenge me?" the Guardian growled, his voice echoing through the cavernous halls of the citadel. "You are nothing but insects, insignificant specks in the face of my power." Katherine stood firm, her sword at the ready. "We may be small, but together we are mighty," she said, her voice ringing with defiance. "We will not let you destroy our world."

It worked on a few of the younger Toten, but not for Anders. The Schatten were able to pick off about ten of the Toten as they backed away from the castle heading towards the river. They took one into custody and placed him in a circle of containment, where he could not shift into his shadow form. The Toten didn't have real Schatten forms; their shadows were weaker and more visible to the human eye. The fighting continued for hours, as each side gained some ground. Daan cast that one of the security guards went down; lost his head. Literally!

The other makes its way down to the mound of hair between hee legs. “I…” She start to protest when I manage to touch her in the right spot. Her breathing gets shallow as I move my hand up and down, holding the nub between my index and forefinger as I let my fingers spread her lips apart. You stop and grab my other arm to steady herrself.

The darkness loomed around them like a cloak. Sekhmet carried an old-fashioned torch he pulled from a hole in the wall to light the way. It was a bit theatric and unnecessary, considering vampires and werewolves alike could see in the dark. But it set the mood for torture nicely; causing shadows to dance across the walls. A bleeding.

An Alpha growl. “Adrian,” I hiss, then ignore him as Nyx pushes further in the dark passage. Suddenly, Nyx stops moving. My gaze drops and I see it. A shadow clinging to Cassie's leg, stretching long and twisted. ‘What’s that?’ I snap at Nyx. ‘Rogue's shade,’ he growls at the same time as Adrian. I can tell he already knows what that shadow is too. The shadow turns slowly towards us and busses when it sees us. Its claws scrape against the floor, then it vanishes into the air.

“Together.” Their hands clasped, a vow to face the war, their bond a fire in the dark. Hong Kong’s docks waited, a battlefield, The Shadow’s network a poison. Their love, their united front, was a beacon, their teamwork a pulse that defied the danger. Something I could never do for Elena." Vivian hesitated. The knife wavered. And in that moment, Lily swung the baseball bat. It connected with Vivian's arm. The knife clattered away. Vivian screamed, clutching her wrist. I grabbed the knife, cutting Declan's ropes with shaking hands. "Can you stand?" I asked. "Barely." But he tried, using my shoulder for support. Vivian was on the floor, still screaming. Lily stood over her with the bat raised, looking shocked she had actually hit someone.
