Arthur sighed for he was wondering himself of this question. Why he, Arthur Adamos, was waiting for the right time to claim his mate, Diana Marchand as if there will be something coming their way to separate them? Perhaps there was an obstacle. Her brother, Xavier, was the Beta of the Shadow Pack and Arthur doesn't want any trouble with him. Xavier can be scary if his sister was in threat. Arthur shook that question away before there was a commotion and a crowd was drawing up as he was approaching the incident. He saw the warriors that were on duty that night before he shifted to his human form before walking into the crime scene.

Please!” A sudden pulse of power surged through the Shadow Realm. The earth beneath me split with a deafening crack. From the fissures, skeletal hands clawed their way upward, followed by pale figures cloaked in black mist. One by one, they emerged—a legion of vampires, their eyes glowing crimson like dying embers.

Hunters. “Shadowthorn sends a message!” one roared. “The Alpha wants his heirs!” Aria shoved the twins behind her, blades already drawn. “Over my dead body.” Luka’s shadows flared. Lila growled, tiny body vibrating with power. The lead hunter lunged. Aria met him mid air, driving both blades into his chest. Hot blood sprayed across her face. She twisted, using his momentum to slam him into the second attacker. Luka’s shadows wrapped the third wolf’s legs, yanking him down. Lila pounced, ripping out his throat with a snarl that was far too mature for her age.

Slowly, painfully, a faint whisper escaped Aria’s lips. “Mom… Dad… love…” Nyx cried in relief and held her tighter, kissing her face through tears. “My girl, your voice is coming back… Mommy is so proud of you.” But Thorne’s face did not change. Horror settled deeper into his eyes. “The shadow has started,” he said. “It takes the voice first. Next, it consumes the soul fully if we don’t stop it.” A shared vision passed through us like cold smoke. The shadow was merciless. It had no heart. It fed on love, pain, and silence.

And the shadows slammed her again and again. The pain along her spine was unbearable, it was like she was shredded to pieces. Another emptiness rises inside her, as her reality begins to emerge that she was going to die here, deeper than the chasm of death that enveloped her. But the man groaned in pain again, and his voice helped Diana restrain the inner darkness in her, even if she couldn't ignore the shadow’s far greater vigor.
