‘You can do this. I sat on the infirmary bed, my fingers trembling as I tried to disinfect the wound on my ear. The sting was sharp, like tiny needles pressing into my skin, and no matter how careful I was, the earring stuck to the wound, refusing to budge, the skin swollen and irritated around the metal. I bit my lip, gripping the tweezers tightly. This seemed simple, I Just had to pull it out. Quick and simple. But the moment I tried, a sharp, searing pain shot through my ear, making me hiss.

They gradually increased. My whole body shivered the moment that the wind blew up. An ear-splitting sound suddenly filled my ear and I can almost feel my eardrum breaking. My throat started to hurt as if it is being scratched by a rough paper or being cut by a cat's claws. I placed my hand on my neck as I fell onto my knees. That scream was mine. That was the reason why my throat was hurting. My head was throbbing like crazy. It's as if someone is pounding my head with a hammer.

Harsh breaths wheezing out as I stumble through the group of wolves that are just as stunned. 'No. No no. That's wrong. That's not right. How? No.' I have no breath. The wound on my head stings. I wipe at it. It stings. I can't breathe. The blood has to come off. I didn't do it. I don't know how to do that. My ear rings. The sound is so piercing, I feel it inside my brain. I cover my ears, agonizing pain tearing a soundless scream from me.

The kind of pain that makes your eyes bulge and your nose drips uncontrollable mucus. But this pain is unlike any pain that I've ever been through before. As the volume of the crying of the human and wolf's voices increases inside my head, so does the pain. My head feels as if it's about to explode and implode at the same time. Breathing hard, I squint my eyes open and glare at the she-wolf that I'm sure caused my pain. "What did you do to me!?" I shout at her through the unbearable pain I'm feeling inside my head.

The throbbing in my nose had reduced to a dull ache and my head was beginning to swim with the buttload of painkillers I'd been given. The clinic attendant had been kind and caring but firm and swift. I had no idea what she intended to do until she did it. Thought she was going to feel around the nose or something which she did initially, but then her fingers moved quickly and I heard a loud crack shortly before I felt the pain. Oh God the pain!

My gasp of pain. My nose began to throb and a rush of fluid over my lips and chin told me it was bleeding. “Shit!” I muttered, putting my fingers to my nose to feel the damage, sure enough it was broken and crooked. My eyes began to tear up involuntarily as I placed my fingers on either side of my wounded nose and I almost yelled out at the pain as I snapped it back into place. “Fuck, I got him with the door.” Muttered one of the guards placed at my door to the other.

Pain. It comes after the other. My eyes snapped open as I gasp loudly. Everything becomes clearer and sharper. Especially my ears. The loudness of the heart monitor makes my heart leap, making it spike some more and I so badly want to shut it. My ears can't take the noise. My claws extract and I find myself blindly reaching to the noise. A door slams open. I let out a loud growl. I don't want to hear anything! Make it stop! When the noises can't seem to quiet down, I bring my hands to my ears and begin to claw at them. Desperate for some quiet. The ringing in my ears makes me blind to everything. I just want it to stop. My head hurts, make it stop.

"The severity of the pain, the nosebleed—that's all within expected parameters?" Dr. Morrison gave me a measured look. "I wouldn't say it's normal, exactly, but it's not necessarily alarming either. Migraines can be severe, and the nosebleed could be related to blood pressure spikes from the pain. However, given his recent head trauma, I do want to be cautious."

My throat felt like the Sahara Desert as I felt my toes twitch. The enhanced sound of a constant beeping was almost deafening to my ears, and my nose twitched under the strong smell of hand sanitiser and bleach. My eyes felt glued shut as I tried to open them, and I noticed it felt like days since I've used any of my senses.

I must have drifted off to sleep because I woke up to my ears popping loudly. "God, that hurt," I groan, holding my palm against my ears, trying to bring pounding to a halt.
