He straightens up, as all signs of amusement snap from his face in a split second and holds still while she goes to work on the chain in his hands. She places both of her hands a few inches above the metal and whispers some incantation until a low blue glow can be seen from underneath her palms. When the glow fades she moves her warm copper brown hands and sighs.

He blurted out and turned to face them. Mira came to an abrupt halt, her shoulders sagged as she sighed, and shook her head, "My name is Mira and in the near future if you want to have a conversation with me, I suggest you learn my name until it makes you weep." she said with a slight turn of her head. The elderly lady gasped, and she placed a hand over her delicate heart as she couldn't believe her ears. ~I hope you like red meat raw, days old even. Because that's all you'll be eating when I take over your body!~ Shadow growled and licked the tips of his canines that had protruded.

Before Candice could react, she heard Nadia scream, and then she saw a dark shadow pounce towards her. The shadow was fast and terrifying. Candice didn’t have time to dodge, but just as the shadow was about to pounce on her, someone pulled her back, narrowly avoiding the squirrel that had been frightened and leapt towards her. Nina's scream rang out. The squirrel that Candice had avoided jumped to Nina's feet, scaring her so much that she turned pale. The tremor lasted for about ten seconds. In the originally quiet forest, many squirrels and birds began to become restless, suddenly becoming noisy.

Her hands glowed with runes she didn’t recognize. Her heart beat so loudly, it made her dizzy. “I don’t know how to stop it,” she whispered. “You don’t.” Lira held firm. “You ride it. Let it become what it needs to.” More came—five, six, ten hunters.

She raised a hand—and three of her mirror copies lunged forward. Carl intercepted one, blade humming. Ophelia ducked the second, slamming her palm against its head and activating her memory disruptor. Tobias scrambled for cover, launching a neuro-blast that flickered through the air like lightning. But Mira didn’t move. She just watched. And smiled. “You’re not ready for what’s coming,” she said. “None of you are.” Then her body turned to light—and vanished. The remaining mirror copies fell to the ground like broken puppets.

Cohen shouted in the mind link. Mira's main objective was herding the hellhounds to the cliff at the end of the territory and let the hellhounds fall to their death. But she had to make the ultimate move to bring the hellhounds down. As soon as she saw the cliff just a few steps in front of her, she cast a glance at her mate and winked. Mira jumped off the cliff, and the hellhounds followed her. As she free fall from the height, something bumped against her body, and she was carried in the other direction while the hellhounds fell to their death.
