Asteria POV. “My song? How is this possible?” I ask as I crash backwards into a hard chest as I’m lifted and placed on his lap. His hands soothe me as I wait for her to speak. “We believe the recordings of your songs have been stolen. We had a breach and all the encrypted files about you were lost. We thought at first they were deleted, but no. They have been stolen.” She says as she sits down across from me and I look at her before looking around the table and see the angry faces of the head members of the Supernatural Council.

Drowned in betrayal. Suffocated by despair.

*BOOM* Have you heard the sound of all your hopes and dreams crushed? All Hearts!!

“His... Soul Stone has cracked.” Instantly, those who were present were left petrified. They felt as though their hearts had cracked.

The Soulmate Covenant is the connection of two souls, the bridging of differences in the name of love, peace, and harmony. Goddess Freya, Goddess of Fate, determines these pairings up on high. But the love between these two souls is nonetheless very real and very powerful. Love cannot be forced, even by a goddess. Therefore, The Covenant is but a seed that must be nurtured and watered to grow. The seed is planted, and it is up to the soulmated pair to tend to it. But if the wrong choice is made that intentionally harms part of the pair, that plant with wither and die.

Afterall, commanding shadows demanded an enduring soul, which did not come naturally, even for a Krane. It could be likened to being pulled apart from the inside. Those that grappled for their souls would feel as though they were a doll being ripped apart at the seams. Each tie to your body snapping like a thread, breaking slowly and agonizingly until you either relinquished it or conquered the other party. Even after the pain from the struggle eventually subsided, you would suffer the severe whiplash of having your soul abruptly reenter into your body for days afterward.

Getting up I walk downstairs, Marcus's eyes on me as I grab food, sitting down, I watch the kids playing. I know I have lost myself. I feel like my body is walking around, moving and soulless. Like my soul has given up early and left me here alone to battle this. How do I fight a battle without my soul? With a heart that is broken and no longer whole? I am lost. I am all the way down, falling through the surface causing an earthquake inside me as I keep falling, crashing further down. I'm going left and right, trying to find my way back, but I can't seem to. I can feel love around me, but then it is plagued with darkness.

His degrading accusations and biting insults carve deeper into my soul, tormenting me relentlessly. Desperation drives me to block my ears with my hands as if by doing so, I could silence the cruel voices that haunt me. But they persist, clinging to me like ghosts of the past, whispering words that cut deep and scar my heart. The weight of his betrayal and the degradation heaped upon me threatened to drown me in a sea of despair.
