Mahisar’s words were laced with venom, his eyes bearing down on her, forcing her to feel small beneath his gaze. He paced just outside the bars like a predator toying with its prey.
“Goddess Durga,” he said, his voice dripping with both reverence and malice, “I have had centuries to study you… to understand your powers, your weaknesses, your rebirths. Every text, every myth, every whisper of your return has led me here.” He spread his arms, as if unveiling a masterpiece. “This entire place is laced with my spells. Even your light—your divine fire—cannot reach beyond these walls. Here, you are helpless. Here, you are mine.”
