My growling stomach then let out an audible gurgle, as if to punctuate my dilemma.
Oh come on, was that your stomach?" Trent asked with a smirk.
"Shut up," I shot back, my face burning.
"When was the last time you ate something?" Trent pressed. "You must be starving."
I pressed my lips together, refusing to admit he was right.
"You know, I bet they have some killer cheeseburgers at the restaurant I'm taking you to," he continued. "Thick juicy patties, melted cheese, pasta, crispy fries..."
As if on cue, my traitorous stomach growled again. Trent's grin widened. "Sounds like your stomach agrees with me."
