Then she left, too, joining the others on the sun pads. They’re already laughing, popping the rosé cork, pouring it straight from the bottle into each other’s mouths like it’s a game. Dancing to music blaring from the speakers.
Every few seconds, one of them glanced back at me, hungry, playful, daring me to hurry the hell up.
