A Secretary Affair

“Don’t,” I begged, dropping to my knees in front of him and holding his face with both hands, forcing him to look at me. “If you say it, the tether snaps. My blood can’t hold you if you choose them. Once you say it, you are theirs, and I won’t be able to reach you anymore. So don’t. Please. Say my name. Three times. Like I told you. That is the only way to keep the bond with me instead.”
