I grin at him, ducking inside. Dad looks up at us, saying his hellos as he finishes typing something on the computer and then standing, peering at Cole. “Updates?” “Yes,” Cole says, looking between us. “But fortunately or unfortunately, not more work. At least not right now. Injured parties from the caves are being airlifted directly to hospitals.” Dad raises his eyebrows, surprised. “Wait, why?” I ask, frowning at Cole. “What happened?” He sighs, shaking his head. “We lost Slaken.”

Meanwhile, James had already arrived at the underground cavern. He finally got on land, but because of the wetsuit, he could not walk properly, so he took it off. “It’s over there, James.” A soldier pointed ahead of them. “Alright.” James nodded and said, “Lead the way.” “Honey, I’m here. The cave is damp, and there’s a lot of moss. Watch your steps,” Thea supported James and reminded him. James slowly advanced with the help of Thea in the direction of the soldiers.

’ ***** A cave, located out of the sight of the pond, somewhere above the middle of the mountain—a quarter of height from the peak. I thought the cave would be empty, but there were traces of its last occupants—stones arranged in the circle of what appears to be a campfire, long sticks carved like skewers, woollen covers, and thick patches of dried grass. Rum was moving around with ease searching while I stood in one spot absorbing my new environment. The air was as cooling as the air conditioned space inside B.A.D. but it carried the freshness of the snow at the peck of the mountain and the clear water of the pond.

His whole body swallowed by a large, worn grey jacket. Avery stopped two meters away. "Cough... cough..." Wenger went into a fit of ragged coughing. He lifted his head slowly, his clouded eyes finding her face. "You look... disappointed." Avery ignored his probing. She pulled up the photo of the nameplate on her phone and pushed it toward him. "PA-030-CA. PA is the project. What's CA?" "You went there..." Wenger muttered to himself. "Answer me. What is CA?"

They scrambled out onto the top of the sub, their lungs drinking in the air. Kazimir reached back, grabbing Elara’s waist to haul her up. He held her a second too long, his hands firm against her sides, ensuring she was steady before he let her go. He stood behind her like a sentinel, his eyes scanning the dark cave. "Light," Elara commanded, her voice returning to its full strength. Kazimir clicked a high-intensity Tactical Floodlight (a powerful, waterproof flashlight used by divers). The beam cut through the dark, revealing a cavern that was hundreds of feet wide.

With that, he immediately ordered his men to begin going deeper into the cave… Shortly after, the group got to the deepest part of the cave and were promptly greeted by the sight of a board of sorts that was covered by a drenched shirt… Before Tye could even begin wondering what the shirt was doing there for, one of his scouting subordinates came rushing back as he reported, “C-chairman Lamano! We’ve found an exit on the other side!” “So they really did steal my map and flee! Those mother f*ckers…!
