The Hunting Party Novels & Stories

“Then let the hunt begin!” Shouts of glee filled the air as the trumpeters announced the release of the fox. Several of the horses chomped at their bits, ready to take off as well, but as the small, red-tailed fox shot out across the castle grounds, the riders restrained their rides, waiting for the signal to pursue. The dogs would be released next, and then the Representatives would be allowed to give chase, followed by the rest of the party. Kit would ride alongside her men because she wanted to observe them through the process. She was well-aware Frick would be difficult to catch, but whomever was sly enough to corner him would be able to call him out as well. On one recent hunt, no one h

She confides. “Rambunctious seems too kind of a word to describe him.” I snark. “You needn’t worry. He will not be traveling with you.” She says. “Oh? I just assumed he would be joining.” I say. I had assumed that Horus would be joining. I was pleasantly surprised to hear he would not. “He is needed to help prepare for the hunt with the Alpha.” “I had forgotten about the hunt.” I say more to myself than Mari. The hunt takes place in the days leading up to the hunter’s moon. Only pack members who have shifted participate. “Please watch out for Dmitry.”

My retaliation was a public humiliation in front of the entire university that Gary could not simply ignore. The game of humiliation he had carefully planned had turned into a public judgment of him and his lackeys. It broke the last of his restraint and made him go mad. He dropped the civility and stopped testing the waters. That night, the app posted an unprecedented "Ultimate Hunting" Quest. The title was crimson red. [Ultimate Hunting Quest. Capture Sinead alive and take her to the abandoned classroom building in the north.]

The moon shone beautifully on the surface of the earth, the wind danced gently like it was welcoming the descent of angels. “Where are we going?” A young lady in a red dress questioned the man holding her hands as he led her through the forest. “Shush Selena, don’t you know demons lurk in this forest?” The man dressed in casual clothing teased his girlfriend but all this made her giggle like a schoolgirl, the leaves soon rustled, it was coming from behind the thick bushes and trees.

Both of them climbed the mountain. "Now we are close to the peak. We may meet our teammates now." Ansh said walking through the dense forest. The forest was getting denser in this part of the mountain. The Forest looked creepy. Ansh and Shama carefully walked into the forest. "Something isn't right here," Shama said looking around. "Yeah, we should be careful," Ansh said nodding his head. Both of them observed their surroundings as they walked through the forest.

One answered with enthusiasm, “The master allows us one day a week to run free in our natural forms to our heart’s desire. Isn’t he so kind!’’ I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. The doors were suddenly open, right before the sharp sound of bones snapping and screams of horror and pain echoed in the bedroom. I watched as the four redheads, seeming to move in similar motion, transformed into wolves. I had never seen it before. My mother has never told me much about it or how it would happen. It was a topic she greatly avoided.

I have no idea why I didn't notice this before, but now that I did, it was hard to ignore. The back side of the pack house conveniently faced the woods, which made it easier for werewolves to shift and go for a run. After I stood awkwardly on the stage throughout the announcement, Harper whispered in my ear that every wolf would now take part in a celebratory hunt. My eyes widened at the word hunt but Harper just chuckled at my response. "We just hunt down three deer as a pack to show our unity and those same deer will be enjoyed in the dinner. Nothing brutal."

No, this was akin to walking into a wolf den. “Before the Hunt begins there’s going to be a party of sorts.” He rubbed his jaw, his finger gliding over his lower lip. “The men will smoke cigars, talk shop, and eye up the does. It gives them all a good idea of who they might choose to hunt.” A carnal sort of light flickered in his eyes. A warning, though I wasn’t sure who it was for. “You won’t be able to act the way you typically do around my brothers and I.”

Reid’s mouth watered in anticipation. A buck rabbit lifted up onto his hind legs, his nose moving frantically, his ears twitching and eyes searching. It was the signal to pounce. The air was rent with their high-pitched screams, the metallic richness of blood, and the snarling of wolves as they tore into flesh and snapped bone in their powerful jaws. Rabbits scattered and disappeared into the hidden entrances to their warrens, but their small hunting party each had a kill, and they carried them back over the dunes, to the beach, to lay on their bellies in the sand whilst they crunched and munched their way through the sweet, still warm flesh.

"Let us embark on hunting expeditions together, testing our abilities as a cohesive unit. By relying on each other's strengths and instincts, we shall not only provide for our pack but also build unshakable trust." The pack's excitement was palpable, their tails wagging in unison. Omega, known for her agility and enthusiasm, let out a joyful yip. "I can't wait to see us in action, hunting as one!" she exclaimed. "Together, we are unstoppable!" And so, with the break of dawn, the pack set off on their first hunting expedition. They moved with grace and synchrony, their steps harmonized, their minds interconnected. Each member knew their role, trusting their companions to fulfill theirs.
