The Lion Tracker's Guide To Life Novels & Stories

Well, this wasn’t the end; she would also have to eat those poor creatures. “Don’t overthink much, Lia. That’s the circle of life. I bet you have read in your books. Lions eat deer; deers eat grass and all those shit things. A part of you is a wolf, and a wolf is anything but not an herbivorous animal.” Theodore explained, knowing what exactly would be going on in her mind. He wrapped his hand around her waist and kissed her neck, “Now, tell me, what is troubling you?” “I don’t want to lose you. I can’t.” Tears dwelled in her eyes with the thought of failing in this challenge. Tears finally rolled out of her eyes in fear.

I swear my big bad wolf is so whipped with her and hearing her voice woke him up in an instant. Yes, there is no way for me to put on a tracker so they can follow me as the humans have a tracker detector, but they forgot that we have an organic one. And my gamma worked with Nile's tracker. And they followed my track. "So you weren't sacrificing your life?" I heard Klaire ask behind me and I chuckled. "I'm ready to sacrifice my life for you if you want to." I felt a pinch behind me. "Shut up." Even without looking at her, I could tell that she's blushing.

I liked seeing her encourage our pack. "Get ready, go." The people who were competing took off running into the woods. Kaya came up and stood next to me. "Our pack should do good." She said over the link. "What advice did you give them?" "I told them that as well as using smell, they should also track. I know their nose is not as advanced as mine; people left those objects. Meaning they left some kind of path to the objects. A good tracker does not just rely on smell if they are struggling; I told them to look for evidence that someone had passed through the area."

The tracks were unlike anything she’d seen long, narrow, and clawed, with a strange double print, like something walking on two legs but with the drag of something else behind it. Ragnar crouched beside them, brushing his fingers lightly over the impressions. “Scavenger-beasts. They use them to track scents over miles. Once one of these has your scent, they never stop following.” “How do you kill them?” she asked. “You don’t,” he said flatly. “You outrun them, or you kill the handler before it finds you.” She looked down at the prints, her mind already turning over the possibilities. The Blood Oath had marked her. They’d sent trackers into her territory. This wasn’t just intimidation. This w

Finally, Lucian sighed. "Fine. But you stay close to me. You don't take unnecessary risks. And if I tell you to run, you run. Understood?" "Understood." Ten minutes later, we were racing through the forest in wolf form. I'd shifted into my white wolf, and Lucian's massive black wolf ran beside me. Behind us, twenty of our best warriors followed. The trail was easy to follow at first. Tessy's scent was strong, mixed with the harsh smell of rogues. But as we went deeper into unclaimed territory, the trail became confused. Multiple scents crossed and recrossed, clearly trying to throw off trackers.

They’ve got a head start, but not by much. Whoever it is must be a warrior. That much is confirmed after we see they tried to cover their tracks and went through a stream to help cover Lindsey’s scent. They even walked on the rocks on the other side for a while to cover where they exited. Unluckily for them, Knight is one of the best trackers that our pack has ever known; he even rivals my father’s wolf. Darkness is falling quickly, and I know we need to get to her before rumors or suspicions start. Knight confirms that we’re getting closer. He’s running full speed until he suddenly slams on the breaks. Grant and Colton almost run into me.

I find him in a hollow beneath a rock, a large, territorial male irritated by the noise of the trial. I don't fight him. I reach out with the High Priestess’s authority, a thread of violet light connecting my mind to his. I don't dominate; I push. I project the image of a rival entering his territory, right into the bottleneck. The lion lets out a low, vibrating growl and lunges out of the hollow. I follow him from the shadows, making the frantic, scratching sounds of a fleeing wolf, herding him straight toward the silver trap. I crouch on the ledge directly above Diana and Brielle, watching as the lion—a tawny blur of muscle—lunges into the pass.

"Well, well, it seems like your small paws have got some basic skills after all, Derek." Liam scoffs loudly beside her shoulder, his armored chest puffing out with deep disdain. "It is nothing but a basic tracking theory! Any young pup who has watched the old enforcement stories about Tracker Kobe could figure that track out with their eyes closed. There is absolutely nothing for your packless name to brag about here!" Lydia shoots him a freezing, cold smile that makes his wolf step back. "Says the male wolf who spends the entire sun cycle watching Idiot Bears run around the grass."

Conan asked in concern. "Let's see," Lex says, and they head in their direction too. "Do lions hunt wolves?" Conan asked. "It's possible if it's hungry," Lex replied. They silently followed without attacking just in case the lion didn't intend to harm, but they were wrong. The lion was stalking Alexa as if she was her prey. "We must stop him," Conan burst out and suddenly appeared in front of the huge beast blocking his path. Lex watched Alexa, who was quite far away from them.

He glared at Aurelia and Zinjo, "We should get going." *** Aurelia felt strangely at home in the jungle. It had everything she needed, thick bushes to hide in, a variety of animals to hunt, and caves to hide in. "Does that happen often with you?" Aurelia asked after she described the feeling to Zinjo. "Hmmm," Zinjo nodded, "It is the hunter's instinct in you. All lions possess this innate knowledge," He bowed his head and the leonid ears flicked back and forth, "Tiberius has engaged the enemy," loud bangs and explosions shattered the tranquility of the jungle.
