Lost to Earth: Book Three

Lost to Earth: Book Three

Too happy to oblige, and I swiftly return to the Duke's office, standing in front of the bookshelf, trying to decide what book would show-off my 21st Century education. 18 My eyes fall on Homer's "The Odyssey." Perfect! I snatch the leather-bound book and return to the bedroom. Once inside, Bryce is sitting on a wooden seat with an empty stool beside him. He is sitting close to one of the burning candles on a floor stand. "What book had you chosen?" "'The Odyssey,' my lord," I tell him, trying to keep my voice neutral and bored. I do not want to give away my eagerness to prove my higher education. "Very well. Sit, and you may begin," Bryce states while studying me curiously. I can

James, Philip And Me

James, Philip And Me

I knew he meant it sensually, but my p*ssy was already dried up. I was about to speak when I heard a thud on the building, and it shook. It was so strong that it felt like an earthquake. Doyle looked at the glass and then ran out. I used that opportunity to reach for the orb and swallow it. I did not know how they would get it out of me, but it was going to be there until I found a toilet. Doyle did not return, and I knew something was amiss.

The Don Lost His Love

The Don Lost His Love

I looked up, my gaze cutting through the crowd to land on a face so gaunt and haggard it was barely recognizable. It was Damian. He’d done it. He’d burned every favor and used every dark contact in the underworld to cross the Atlantic and hunt down a classified meeting. He stood in the doorway, chest heaving, his eyes a roadmap of broken red veins. The Great Don of New York looked like a beggar, his eyes filled with a plea that crawled in the dirt. Security moved to intercept him, but he stood there like a hollowed-out puppet, staring at me, his breath hitching.

Escaping The World: Lost in Book (book 1)

He doesn’t look me in the eye as he speaks. "Something like that." I repeat. "However, I find it best not too run to the bottom of a bottle." This is not my place, let it go! But he’s the one to keep it going this time. "And I find it best not to chain myself to someone else's world." He retorts. "Fair enough." I say and carry on with my reading, twirling my pencil in my fingers until I need it. I thought that would be the end of this strange encounter but Aidan had other plans. He stared down at my book.

Vampire of the New World

Vampire of the New World

"Is this the missing Gonzalez? It was mentioned in letters and memoirs, but no one had actual proof that it exists. People were saying that it has been lost forever!" "No. Not lost. It eventually came into my possession," said Dante, glowing with pride. "The next one is something that you'll also find quite interesting. It is the oldest painting in my possession," said Dante. The third painting showed a black figure that was hardly discernible in the darkness. He appeared to be coming out of a tunnel or a well. Dante flicked on the pin lights and Jon's attention was quickly drawn by the eyes that glowed red like embers.

Captain Cook
Excellent book! Plenty of suspense with vivid descriptions of locations and characters! I've reached Chapter 169 and didn't see any issues. I hope the author updates soon with new chapters! Great work!

This is an extremely well-written book. Of all the books I’ve read on the platform, this author’s command of the English language is the best. The story is great and reminds me a lot of Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Demon Law : Lost Isle Book 1

Demon Law : Lost Isle Book 1

Knowing when and where to use my energy, so none is wasted—and I don’t give in to the impulses that leave me with nothing—is a centuries-long achievement. Took me longer than I care to admit to figure out where I landed. The Isle is nothing like the prison it's advertised as. Like walking through the pages of an anime, really. Old world. Pure world. Barely touched by man—and still sprinkled with the little conveniences that make it worth dealing with. Hell, half the humans I ever dealt with in the Bayou would stamp their ticket just for the fact that mosquitoes don’t exist and AC isn’t needed on half the Australian-sized continent.

We can't let anyone outside this temple find out... that we lost the daughter of the great duo assassin and a fire child, got it?" he ordered them as the three nodded their head and dismiss themselves. Dane then sat down in his chair as he gazes outside his window. A Don's Tale

A Don's Tale

He rented a car and drove to the small town. The town was even more beautiful than he had seen in photos. White houses cascaded down the hillside in layers, and the stone streets were polished smooth and shiny with age. Every windowsill had bright flowers blooming on it. Lorenzo walked through the streets, watching the people coming and going. A strange feeling welled up in his heart. It was too quiet and too beautiful here, completely unlike the world full of violence and scheming he had lived in. He suddenly felt that Elena truly belonged here, in a beautiful place like this, living a life of such peace.

The Lost Pack

The Lost Pack

Death was already taking hold when the world exploded in light. Now, the clearing glows faintly gold and silver, shimmering like a dream that hasn’t faded yet. For a heartbeat, I don’t move. Maybe I’m not alive. Maybe this is what comes after… the space between worlds that people talk about, where lost wolves walk before the moon calls them home. The air feels too soft, too still. No pain, no breath, just light.

Loving this book so far! Author, as many have stated in the chapter comments, 291 & 292 are repeat chapters from 283 & 284. Though I do believe they should be at 291/292 (makes more sense) and not 283/284.

So, the main plot of 'The Lost World' really hinges on this group of explorers who travel to a remote plateau in South America after hearing rumors of prehistoric life surviving there. It's led by Professor Challenger, who's this brilliant but irascible figure, and the story is told from the perspective of a young reporter, Malone, who joins to prove himself. The core is their discovery of dinosaurs and other ancient creatures, which is mind-blowing for the characters, and then the struggle to survive and bring proof back to a skeptical scientific community in London. The tension isn't just man versus dinosaur; it's also about the clash of personalities in the expedition and the sheer logistical nightmare of being trapped on that isolated plateau.

What I always find interesting is how Doyle uses it to critique the arrogance of established science at the time—the Royal Society dismisses Challenger outright, forcing him to mount this insane expedition. The journey there is an adventure in itself, but once they're on the plateau, it becomes a series of fantastic set-pieces: pterodactyl attacks, battles between iguanodons, and even encounters with a tribe of aggressive ape-men. The plot drives toward their eventual escape and the triumphant, chaotic presentation of their live pterodactyl evidence in London, which ends up being darkly funny.
