Luna lay against her back and closed her eyes again. Saine walked to the door and pulled it open. The wind blasted in, cold, snow pellets stinging his face like needles. He looked back at Ayla. She stood by the bed, Luna on her back, the ledger clutched in her hand. Her hair was blown wild, strands plastered to her face. He looked at her face, wanting to say something. His lips moved. Nothing came out. He turned and walked into the blizzard.

I uttered trying to understand Alpha Connor's words. "He wouldn't be coming back because I would give him enough money to start a new pack" Alpha Connor was old but he wasn't stupid, he would have Alpha Micah and Ira kidnapped which would give him the right to the throne and then he would give Alpha Micah and Ira enough money to start a new life which would mean exile. "This is obituary" I uttered in a loud tone. "Yes because you're by my side, I would make you my Luna and you would get to feel what it is to be called the Luna of a pack as large as this" he uttered as he pointed to the pictures of my parents.

Ayla's pov I finish out my school day and head for my locker. Jace is my ride this week, we trade off, and it’s his turn to drive. I’m rearranging my books, trying to figure out which ones I’ll need for homework, when I feel someone step into my space. I look up. Ice blue eyes. Kieran Vale. Future Alpha of Moonridge. Fantastic.

LILIANA'S POV Suddenly, the garden seemed too silent. Too little. It's too stuffy. I kept staring at Darian as his words kept repeating in my mind. A Luna. The council desired that he select a Luna. They did, of course. The Alpha was him. The Blood Veil Pack's strongest wolf. It was uncommon to have a leader without a Luna. Particularly now that the pack was at last stabilizing. The reasoning made sense to me.

That moment had stirred something deep within her, something she wasn’t ready to let go of. But then what had Damon done after that? He left. He didn’t talk to her, didn’t claim her as his. And now here was Prince Aldrick, offering her everything—love, stability, a future as a queen. Could she truly afford to turn that down? Luna Anita’s eyes softened as she stepped closer, her voice lowering to a whisper. “Amara, I know you’re conflicted, but sometimes we have to make hard choices for our own good. "Alpha… Victoria and Leo are gone." Damien clenched his teeth. "Find them. She won’t get far." Michael nodded and left swiftly, his wolf bristling. Damien remained, sinking to his knees beside Analica as Ariana hovered near, pale but strong. Together, they watched as both Analica and Eve slipped closer to the veil. Analica’s lips curved in a faint, peaceful smile. "Thank you, my Alpha… my Luna. I will be free." Her eyes closed as her chest stilled.

The cover was adorned with strange symbols that seemed to shimmer in the light. "This is the Book of Lunaria," she explained. "It holds the secrets of your true destiny." As I opened the book, the pages revealed intricate illustrations and cryptic text. One passage stood out: "When moon's child claims her rightful place, The balance of power shall shift and sway. A new era dawns, with shadows cast, And Ruth, the lunar heart, shall forever last." Michael's eyes narrowed. "What does it mean?" Ariana's gaze locked onto mine. "You, Ruth, are the lunar heart. Your power is the key to restoring balance to the supernatural world."

She answered coolly. I blinked at her stupidly as I reeled from this change in her character, and fought my wolf’s demands for control. “What decision, Alina?” Her fingers tightened on the book’s spine until the knuckles went white. “The Luna Games, of course. What other decision would there be?”

She walked closer to the sink, opening it and washing her hands. "I have to wash my hands because of your filthy skin." She sneered. "Open your eyes Kayla, the only filthy thing here is you." I spat out. "You are just jealous, Laila. because when I'm done, I will be the one standing beside him as Luna, and together we will rule this pack together." She said, "You being Luna?" I heard Kieran scoff coming close to us. "Well, maybe in your afterlife."
