River The mind is a curious thing, you juggle things you had no idea you were capable of juggling. I thought I could move on from things but I found myself sifting through today. I wasn’t the type to let things get under it. Not really. Not things like gossip or self-righteous deans spouting morality with wine-stained lips and trembling egos. But after I left her office that morning, I found my thoughts curiously unsettled, looping over her words like a scratched record.

The only thought keeping me sane right now were the thoughts of Aiden. Oh God! just save me from this.

But always, I’m quick to cast it from my mind. These past few days, I find myself thinking about him a lot. My alpha. Sometimes, I wonder if the only thing holding me back is me. Tonight, with my oldest friend Lily sharing my bed, off somewhere in dreamland, I don’t sleep. Though my eyes are closed and my breathing is even. I am fully awake. Thinking. I think. And I think. And I think some more. By the time dawn comes and the sun begins to rise on the horizon, I’m still in the same position, hands clasped over my chest.

Quiet is where my thoughts go loud. I am Audrey Gibson and I am often referred to as thoughtless by my parents. I do think. I think it's not a good idea to elope at eighteen with my upcoming musician boyfriend. I think pursuing a career in writing will probably leave me broke in the future. And I think thinking makes people sad. My thoughts are not a happy place. It's like being in a dark narrow room, with no ventilation with this ticking sound-tick, tick, tick - and I don't know where it's coming from. Why go there, when I can be here with him?

I felt a little better when I felt the hot water touching my skin. My mind is still blurry from the incident and what I wanted now was to stay far away from the two of them. But the problem is I can't run away from this feeling for Zach because I have been having this feeling ever since we got close. After I'm done showering, I pick up my pajamas and put them on. I go to grab my phone on the table and put it to charge, switching it on. I wait for a while and see 100s of messages and phone calls from that particular person, Zach. At the same time, I see some messages from my girlfriends as well as Liam. I decided to open my girl friend's chat first.

Goddess, I only had one thought. What had I done?

"My pleasure, sweetheart." We watch the sun hike up higher into the sky. Its rays flood the room, taking inch after inch without mercy. Resting in his embrace, I sigh contentedly. I feel safe with him. I could drift to sleep if I wanted, but one of many hundred speculations weighs heavily on my mind. I think that might be one of my negative traits. Once a thought manifests itself in my head, I have no choice but to deal with it—typically by talking it out. "Mikael?" I whisper to the chest on which I'm lying, synced to half its pace of rising and falling.

Nivea's POV: Looking into his eyes all I could see was adoration and love. I sighed thinking about it. In a few days we will be mated and there will be nothing that can come between us. We walked downstairs and turned on a TV show, The Walking Dead. We were on Season 2 Episode 5 when Keenan got a mindlink and his face immediately changed from content to upset. "Whats wrong?" I asked. "It's my dad. He's requesting us in his office with him and my mother as soon as possible. I think something is wrong. " He stated with a grim tone.

After all, it’s been nearly two hours since I sat down at my desk to work, yet I haven’t done shit in those hours. I can’t stop my mind from thinking. I had a lot going on, yet all I could think about was Sadie and Aspen. It’s like my mind has been invaded by thoughts of them. I can’t get my head to think about anything else. “Let me guess, you are thinking about Sadie,” Micah mumbles, sitting on the other side of my desk.

All I can think, again and again, is… I don’t want this to be over.
