Through The Gates Of Splendor Audiobook Novels & Stories

“Do you think we can really use this?” “Definitely, yes. I heard that the Book of Gates contains twelve hours, a series of gates that the soul should have safe passage. Each gate is said to be associated with a goddess with a specific title. The book is believed to help those who have departed to make their journey safe to the underworld.” “And we can use it as a last resort to defeat Priestess Nehes.” Everyone looked at Zadi when she finished saying it. “But how is that possible?” Eric asked in confusion. “If it’s for the dead, then it’s not applicable to the living people, is it?”

Aruna whispered. Gabriel. The Eighth Founder. Proof. Physical proof. He had existed. He had never been a myth. He had simply been erased. Dante reached toward the gate. The moment his fingers touched the metal— A loud mechanical sound echoed through the mountains. Everyone drew weapons instantly. The gate began opening. By itself. Slowly. The enormous steel doors separated with a grinding noise. Revealing darkness beyond. Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. The gate stopped. Fully open. An invitation.

A compartment opened. Inside was a thin black book. Gabriel took it carefully. The cover carried no writing. He opened it. The first page contained a warning. WHEN THE SEVENTH GATE OPENS, THE KEY WILL CEASE TO BE A KEY. Aria stepped closer. Gabriel continued reading. THE CARRIER SHALL BECOME THE DOOR. Another page. THE DOOR SHALL STAND BETWEEN TWO WORLDS. Another. IF THE DOOR OPENS, ONE WORLD SHALL REMAIN.

SAPPHIRE The dread in the atmosphere was painfully heavy. We were no better than deer walking into the arms of the hunters. The only difference was that they lived in the bliss of ignorance and we were too unfortunate to be ignorant. All we could do was to plead to the goddess that our deaths would be swift and painless. Four moons had set before we finally arrived to the palace. Once we reached the gates, they came to a halt. The gates before me were like monuments, titan like, and completely gold. The inlays on it had patterns that were too intricate for me to follow or even understand.

JADE’S POV The air around Melanie’s fortress was heavy, like something was breathing through the mist. Every step we took toward the dark gates made the ground hum softly under our feet. Hardin whispered, “This place gives me chills.” Alvina glared at the massive doors. “Keep your guard up. This is Melanie’s nest. She’s watching.” “I know,” I said quietly, gripping the spell book close to my chest. The gates creaked open on their own, slowly, as if welcoming us. A long, black corridor stretched ahead, lit by torches that burned with blue fire.

He pressed; his skepticism barely veiled by a thin layer of curiosity. "That's what's written on the ancient parchment," Howard replied, his voice steady, conveying the gravity of the information. "In that chamber, there are three main gates: one to the past, one to the present, and one to the future. The Alpha king entered from the present gate, so he can only open one of the two other gates—the one to the past or the future."

The Gate of Echoes. It was beautiful and terrible—two immense stone doors carved with runes so ancient even her wolf couldn't decipher them. Whispers curled from the gate’s seams, whispering truths, lies, and secrets Aria couldn’t untangle. Some in her voice. Some in Kael’s. Some in the Thirteenth’s. > “You were always meant to fall.” > “Let it go. Let me in.” She reached forward—hesitant, cautious—but her hand brushed the surface of the gate and pain ripped through her chest like fire. Her mark flared. The crescent burn between her collarbones sizzled with heat.

She is slowly becoming the mother I never had. I finished early with Lady Viviane, and I want to enjoy an evening stroll before I reach home. My stroll takes me by the main gate of the palace. The main gate is truly a majestic work of art. It is adorned with gold and shines brightly under the evening sun. The gate was also peaceful. I expect to feel the same peace as I walk by but a loud noise startles me. I look towards the gate and am surprised to see the guards forcefully toss a man out of the palace.

Another roar exploded beneath the fortress. The gate opened wider. Dark claws suddenly slammed against the bars from the inside. Massive, rotting and wrong. Guards stumbled backward in terror. One of them whispered a prayer. Then something spoke from beyond the gate. “Daughter…” The voice shook the entire chamber. Ancient. Monstrous. Familiar. Pain exploded through my skull again. Images flashed violently, a throne of gold and bone. A woman with glowing eyes. Armies kneeling. Monsters bowing.

Every expression flows perfectly—from wild excitement to trembling nerves, layered with the shy submission of the second female lead. In front of the recording crystals, I approach the massive iron doors of the citadel, lowering my head with a breathless smile. My lips part in shock, my heavy thighs taking two steps back before I press forward again. Just as my fingers touch the iron, the gate swings open on its own. The sheer wonder in my eyes is palpable as I stare at the glowing moon-pools inside the courtyard. "From this sunset forward... is this the sacred den where my skin belongs?" I whisper, my voice trembling with raw, rich emotion as my boots cross the threshold.
