CONNOR POV It didn’t take Aurora or myself long to fall asleep that night. We’d spent most of the day traveling so we were pretty tired. But I wish it had stayed like that. In the early hours of the morning I was woken by Aurora screaming. It scared the hell out of me and I turned to look at her and she was thrashing around on her side of the bed, sweat pouring off of her. I grabbed her shoulders and tried to wake her. Whatever this nightmare was, it was definitely a bad one. And I had been there after she’d had a few bad nightmares. But nothing like this.

The most harrowing part is that I am unable to escape this torment, even in the safety of my dreams. Upon waking up, I am immediately confronted with a lingering sense of fear and anxiety that seems to follow me relentlessly throughout the day. It's as if the haunting presence of my nightmares refuses to let go, leaving me constantly on edge and hyperaware of my surroundings. Every creak and whisper sends me into a state of heightened alertness, bordering on paranoia. Trust becomes a luxury I can't afford, and I find myself unable to let my guard down even for a single moment. The intensity of these dreams is so overwhelming that I often wake up screaming, my heart pounding in my chest, and

NEAH Three days before the assault. The packhouse is full of warriors from four packs. Every room occupied. Every hallway buzzing with tense energy. Plans. Strategies. Weapons being sharpened. Wolves preparing for war. I can't sleep. The nightmares are back but different now. Not the car crash anymore. Now I dream of the compound. Serum wolves with blank eyes and twisted limbs. Golden light erupting from my hands and destroying everything around me. Friend and enemy alike, burning in the same fire.

I awoke in my bed, staring at the bland white ceiling. The ticking of a clock filled the silence in the room, almost luring me back to sleep. My eyes flashed back open, irritated. I needed to get up before I fell asleep. I didn't want to wake Sebastion up with another one of my terrible nightmares. They where so vivid last night I woke up screaming and panting. Drakos's son always filling my dreams as he did the most terrible things to my body. Always claiming that I would come back to them. That I was destined to fill my place by Drakos's side as a warrior. Of course I knew it was just a dream, Drakos's son was dead after all. I killed him. “After you finish eating, get some rest. A long journey awaits us in the morning.” Ayla glanced at the bed. “It’s hard to rest when you have nightmares.” “You have nightmares?” he asked. Her gaze found his. “Sometimes. Do you?” He nodded. “What are your nightmares about?” They ate in silence for a while before Ayla replied. “Galian. My father. The death of my mother and grandmother. But the most frightening thing is a scream I keep hearing. And you?” Rhobart clenched his jaw. “Dinner is not the right place to talk about my nightmares.”

His face and the insides of my old house started fading away. Everything around me soon turned black. I jolted awake with a gasp feeling someone shaking my shoulders with urgency. I was met with Ryder’s face leaning above me. My body shook uncontrollably as I gasped for air. My heart was filled with tremor. I glanced towards the door. I turned to look at Ryder. I wanted to warn Ryder about my father being downstairs but I frowned when I saw the darkness that enveloped the sky outside. It was still night time. Recognition dawned on me when I realized that it was just a nightmare.

I flop down on the bed and close my eyes, allowing the exhaustion of the trip and then the quick run to the border and back again that I just did take me into the darkness of nightmares. I wake with a start from my nightmare and rub my hand up and down my face. It is the same nightmare I have been having since my father killed my mother. It keeps reminding me that there was nothing I could do to save my mother, and it brings out the fear in me that I will not be able to save Aurora, either.

Another three days passed, the girls were still in the witch's home. It was like time was crawling as the days felt longer and the nights felt shorter but longer for Skylar actually as once again, the nightmares haunted her and this time, it wasn't a creature with blood, it was a child. A wailing child, crying for help, wanting his mama and papa to save him. Skylar woke up every night from the same dream for the past three days, giving her sleepless and long nights.

“It’s not going to happen.” It took me hours to fall back asleep. Even with his body pushed up against mine. He had an arm draped over my stomach. A leg hooked over mine. But anytime I closed my eyes, I saw her with a gun, pointing it directly at my face. The same nightmare plagued me all night. No matter what Nate tried, he would always have to wake me from my scream infested sleep. But the dream always ended the same way. With Kyra pulling the trigger. Looking at myself in the mirror the following morning. I looked a state. My long dark hair was stuck out everywhere. Big dark circles sat around my eyes.

MORGANA FOSTER I wake up from a nightmare with a jolt, my forehead drenched in sweat. It’s one of those nightmares where I’m kidnapped and kept isolated from everyone. It used to feel unreal, but now it feels closer to reality. In the dream, I scream for Ryan, and he isn’t there for me. He’s nowhere near me. My heart trembles, and I get stabbed, bleeding out until I die. I always wake up just before I die.
