Their features were generic and did not resemble the former Alpha or his long lineage of tyrants. Electra looked at the front of the plinth and expected to see the Dark Sky Pack crest. The circular shield, with a background of deep, velvety black. At the top of the crest, a silver crescent moon emerges from behind a cloud, casting a dim glow over a powerful and sleek werewolf with fur that was a mix of deep black and dark gray, blending with the night. On either side of the werewolf, towering pine trees stand with their branches reaching upward, creating a frame around the shield.

Don’t…’ Niru warned me and stopped me from moving forward. ‘What the hell, Niru!’ He shook his head. ‘That’s not…that’s…’ I moved closer to where the fighting had moved to and watched. There were five werewolves, two of which were wounded pretty bad. It was easy to pick out Skylar. Her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail but it was the same nearly white-blonde that Mom had. She was also the shortest out of the entire group. However, her eyes were completely black. The smile she had on her face was that of a monster playing with their food. My paws froze in the ground.

Thaila's Pov It was indeed a werewolf, but its skull was laying a few feet away from its body, half-hidden beneath frost. Its human shape was unmistakable but also wrong. The jaw was warped. The teeth were too long and sharper than natural. The bones, scraped and gnawed. My stomach tightened. “What happened here?” I asked quietly. Kael crouched beside the remains. His expression shifted into something unreadable. “Starvation,” he said.

The previous night... The wolf kept trailing the creature, creeping closer. The creature was oblivious to the beast behind it and it walked towards the mountains. It was a hideous creature;skull head with large horns, yellow eyes and jagged teeth. Its whole body was a mass of rotten flesh crawling with worms. The night prowlers could always be seen clothed in a dark cloak, hiding their rotten bodies. But their terrible smell was distinguishable, especially for the shifters and vampires who had a sharp sense of smell.

Meera noticed this and she smiled. '"Let me let you in on a secret." Meera said looking at her and she smiled. "Those skulls aren't the skulls of ordinary werewolves you know, I would never use the skull of just any wolf as a trophy. All those skulls are the skulls of wolves like you and your family. Alpha wolves." Scarlett felt her blood go cold at the mention of her family. She had been trying to knock Meera out when she was caught and strung upwards in the air but she didn't succeed. These skulls were the skulls of Alphas.

Skulls—both human and werewolf—were on long sticks, their empty eyes looking into the distance. I felt heavy inside as I looked at the eerie scene. The skulls moved a little in the breeze, and each one seemed to have its own story of suffering. The human heads looked like they were in pain, while the werewolf skulls had something strange about them, with bits of fur making them scarier. The wind made the bones scrape against the wood with a creepy sound. The smell of death and rot filled the air, making me feel scared and sick. It was clear—Swiftclaw ruled by making people scared, and this scary scene was meant to show how strong he was.

he voiced out this time. How are they going to fight four huge werewolves in their tiny builds compared to those creatures? Zane’s heart hammered in his chest. But he didn’t show his tension. “Shit!” Zeev cursed and looked at the opposite side to be ready for any sudden attack. A huge ebony-coated wolf with bloody red eyes graced under the moonlight. Zane almost gasped seeing the rogue. But more than its appearance, the almost glowing dark mark on its leg caught Zane’s eyes.

But the four other wolves with me, helped me take her out of the destruction. The third one didn’t move. When I got closer, I saw the skull partially caved in. There was so much blood. There were a few bubbles forming where the mouth and nose should be. I screamed for another blanket or anything to support him out of there, and moved everything out of the way. But by the time it came, I’d heard the rattling of death bubbling out of his throat. There was nothing that could have saved him. This thought didn’t help me feel better regardless.

For werewolves, the full moon is a sacred occasion. A werewolf pack congregates for their own rites in the same manner that humans might dress nicely and convene at a place of worship. The location where we meet for the Trialblazer pack is roughly an hour and a half northwest of Toronto.
