When Does The Library Close Novels & Stories

The library will close at five o'clock so I still have plenty of time to study for the lesson. But unfortunately, sitting in that quiet place was not a good idea after all.

My only option, the window was hours from closing. “I have to go back.” I wobble, the pulling on my leg makes me wince. “Please, no one is going to go to the library at this time.” She pats down the empty stop. “Someone might.” She rolls her eyes, she’s right, the library is usually quiet around the afternoon unless there’s someone that needs a book and that’s unlikely because is summer and none dares to step foot inside that building unless is necessary. “I will call you tomorrow.”

“But would it be okay if I still got a quick tour?” “Of course!” Ethan seemed eager to show him around. “Actually,” I cut in. “The library is closed on Sundays.” “Bummer.” Ryan shook his head. “I was really excited to see the layout.” “Well, I suppose a quick tour wouldn’t hurt.” I said, trying to be nice. “Are you sure?” Ethan asked. “I wouldn’t want you to get in any trouble.” “I’m sure.” I waved. “Besides, even if we did get caught, Mayor Pippins worships you.”

Nora's POV A flashlight beam sweeps across the bookshelf six inches from my face, and the blood in my body goes cold. I’m crouched between two shelves in the back corner of the university library. The library closed at midnight. It is now 3 am. I’ve been doing this every finals week since sophomore year — hiding in the back stacks until they lock up, studying in the kind of silence you can’t get anywhere else on campus. I have never once been caught.

“I just… I didn’t know you wore glasses.” “Yes. They’re this revolutionary invention that allows us to see exactly what’s in front of us.” I have the sickening feeling he’s not talking about the books. “We’re closing soon,” he says, tone sharp. “If you don’t need something, I’m going to ask that you please leave.” He picks up another book from a nearby stack and adds it to the pile already under his arm. “Ben–” He brushes past me and heads in the opposite direction. “Ben!” He doesn’t turn, but calls over his shoulder. “The library closes in fifteen minutes. Please see yourself out.”

Red’s POV My head felt groggy and my backside ached. I snapped awake after my head nearly dropped, having waited in the library for almost an hour. When I checked the time, it was already quarter to six. Colleen and Mitch had gone home already half an hour before. They offered to stay, but I sent them off since we had a quiz the next day. “Five minutes before closing!” The librarian announced, prompting everyone to start packing up. Some were already heading out.

After the class, I decided to go to the library and wait for Jonathan there. We’re both unfamiliar with our condo locations so we agreed to just wait for each one of us. He still have classes until 6:15 in the evening. Johansson’s Library were huge and full of new collections of different books all around the world. I picked two books with me and look for a table where I can read but all the tables were occupied. I saw an empty chair at the end corner of Science section and marched there.

Zeke went to the library before sunrise the following day. Not that it mattered. He hadn’t slept for... Shit, he couldn’t even remember now. The librarian seemed surprised to see him, but she didn’t comment when he walked over to a shelf to start browsing. The library was open twenty-four hours a day to allow students to keep up with their studies on top of their training schedules. It was the biggest structure on campus, with a vast atrium structure and several floors around it. It was usually full of students after training, but at this time, he had known it would be empty. Most people were still asleep or resting before the start of another gruelling schedule. Lucky bastards.

Should I head home, or find somewhere else to hide away for a while? I decided to head to the library late to work on the corrections for my proposal. Lost in concentration, I didn’t realize how quickly time was passing until the librarian approached me gently. "Sweetheart, it's already 10. We're closing the library now," she said with a sympathetic smile. "If you plan to study all night, you'll have to come back on Friday. We're open 24/7 until exam season ends," she added kindly. "But tonight, I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave."
