When The Phone Rings Book Novels & Stories

I hear the ringing coming from the alley. I stand still for a moment, my heart racing, unsure of what to do. But curiosity pulls me forward, and I step cautiously into the alley. The air feels colder now, heavier. The sound of my footsteps echoes against the walls as I move deeper into the shadows. I stop when I see it. Richard’s phone, lying on the ground, face up and still glowing. A chill runs through me, and I kneel down to grab it, but something catches my eye—there’s something else there, close to the phone.

Ring…ring…ring… I peal my eyes off of the bare wall and glance down at my phone on the table. My heart slams hard against my chest as the word Queen flashes at me as if something important has happened. I don’t hesitate as I grab my phone and gasp, “Did something happen? Is my brother awake now?”

He presses the call button, holding the phone up to his ear. The room is deathly silent. And then, the sound breaks through the tension like a bomb going off. John’s phone rings loudly from his pocket. Everyone turns to stare at him. Marsh, Halloway, the lawyer, and even Daisy. Her eyes widen in shock, and she finally looks at him, her expression a mixture of disbelief and betrayal. John’s breath catches in his throat as he slowly reaches into his pocket, pulling out his phone. The ringtone continue to blare, echoing off the walls, the sound like a cruel reminder of the truth he had tried so hard to hide.

Ring! Ring! I groaned in irritation when I heard the sound of my phone ringing. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 10 o’clock. “Whoever is calling me, better have a damn good reason for calling this late,” I grumbled out loud. I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and looked at the phone caller ID. The name JOE BANDIT was flashing across the screen. My eyes went wide and I quickly sat up, clearing my throat before accepting the call.

Ringg! Her phone rang loudly in her pocket. She gasped, her heart lurching as the sound tore through the silence like a gunshot. Shakily, she slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled out the phone. Her fingers were trembling so badly she nearly dropped it. When she saw the caller ID glowing on the screen, her chest tightened. It was a name she didn’t expect, or maybe she did. A name that dragged her back to reality like a slap to the face.

Ring... Ring...Ring My phone ringing wakes me from my nap. Looking at the caller ID I let it go to voicemail and try to get back to sleep. the ringing starts up again and I hand my phone to Christopher who was just waking up. I snuggled into him after he took the phone.

Something that lingers. Something that makes my chest feel suddenly too tight. Then— My phone rings. The sharp sound cuts straight through the quiet of the car. Gabriel pulls back almost immediately. We both freeze for a second. My phone continues ringing inside my bag. Gabriel blinks once, clearly just as surprised as I am, before running a hand slowly through his hair. “Well,” he mutters under his breath, glancing toward the sound. “That’s unfortunate timing.” The sound of my phone keeps ringing inside my bag.

I PICKED UP THE PHONE I was in his room, when his phone rang . The sound cut through the quiet afternoon like a sudden intrusion: sharp, insistent, vibrating against the nightstand where he’d left it charging. The screen lit up with the name: Mavrerick. I stared at the phone as it buzzed again, the vibration making the charger cable twitch like a living thing. Last time I saw this number and heard this name was in house in Greece.

And then a sound cut through the air. Ring!! A phone was ringing. Everyone froze. The phone rang again, loud and sharp in the quiet room. Everyone knew my rule. Meetings were to be free of phones, free of distractions. No exceptions, well, except for me. The ring came a second time. Isabelle was the first to move. Her pen clattered on the table as she spun around, heels striking the floor. “Who…” She hissed, her voice like a whip, “Forgot to turn off their phone?”
