Mother gone out of the little girl’s room and returned with an old thick bounded book, “Mommy, I saw this book in daddy’s place.” Mother opened the old thick bounded book and carefully turned the pages, “Baby girl, and don’t touch it. Let me do it for you.” The little girl asked, “What’s this dot is called?” Mother replied wisely to make her daughter understand, “This white mountain on the west is called Ayruzglow kingdom. Dragons lived there.” The little girl asked with a curious tone, “Oh, wow. Are we dragons? I don’t find my wings? Can I Fly?”

I dug deeper into the bag and found a children's storybook, ‘The Hunting Game.’ I skimmed through the pages, there no words on them only colored pictures but what I thought was a story for children was actually a morbid depiction of the game. I had to find the bird before the wolves do or they would eat its heart. There were other characters in the book like the doctor, the police, and the civilians. In total there were twenty-four of them excluding the bird, the same number we were. There were no rules written in the book only the vague riddle at the end. ‘He who has the bird has the power.’ And the warning from the voice, ‘don’t tell anyone about your role.’ My head ached

Aahana's POV There were a group of three birds, they had white plumage, buff tinged heads, and black wingtips. They were chirping relentlessly without stopping. As we walked towards them they were scared, apprehensive of our arrival they gathered at the last point of the space they were seated in. They were so afraid that they were hitting beak continuously on wall in order to find a place to escape. Mr Dark was approaching them with such huge steps, anyone could get scared, they are just pure little souls.

That one moment when she'd been my Mum and nothing else. The other reason was because, after the monsters left, I would curl up on the pile of crumpled clothes at the bottom of my wardrobe, close the door, switch on the torch and look at the pictures of all the birds. From the bright blue and yellow macaw, to the sunburst orange crown of the cockatoo, from the rainbow-billed toucan, to the striking red of the scarlet ibis, I learnt everything I could about them. I drank in every single word until I could recite it off by heart. Memorised every picture like it was a photograph I had taken myself. Looking at the birds in all their wondrous colour calmed me, helped me forget.

I rubbed his feathers to make him even more meek and, as Willow says, we need to step on our blackbirds and let them know we are their master. We were back in our place with our blackbirds. As I said, these blackbirds are one of the ingredients to learn about magic and one of that is the bird language and Willow is our Professor to learn about bird language. Willow is a wizard. He has a lot of special ability, and there’s no doubt that he can guide as very well.
